Parking Lot Update
As of August 24 the major work on the parking lot has been completed.  We are just landscaping around the edges.  Now we need patience as we wait a full week for the blacktop to cure.  Please do not use the lot until Tuesday, August 30.  Thanks for your patience and consideration.

We have also been replacing the wooden louvres in the bell tower and very soon our lovely cast iron railings will be replaced, though we know everyone will miss the 2 X 4's.

ADULT FORUM

"9/11/01 - 9/11/11:

What has changed?

How have you changed?"

Most people remember where they were and what they were doing on September 11, 2001, but what have we learned since then - about our world and about ourselves? You are invited to a very special Adult Forum on Sunday, September 11 at 9:00 am in the Undercroft. We will be having a special discussion regarding this event and the above questions. Please join us for this opportunity for reflection and discussion.

CHURCH SCHOOL:

Church School classes officially begin on Sunday, September 18th. There will be a time of registration the week before on Sunday, Sept 11th beginning at 9 am in the undercroft.  We'd really like to hear from you about our church school program.

Please the Church School Survey.  (Didn't receive one? Don't remember where you put it?  Call the church office at 483-6405 and we'll mail you another survey!)

We'd also love to have new teaching assistants this fall. Could you consider helping for one or two rotations?   Give it a try!

COMPUTER TUTORS:

Are you afraid of the computer? Do you have trouble using your email? Do you know which brower you're using, or how to chat on FaceBook? We make it easy for you to learn!!

For help with computer set up and training contact Jason McEntire (eldest son of our friend, Ron McEntire) and Lori Duckett - (716) 487-2222, or email computertutors@hotmail.com

They'll answer your questions and help you with "hands on" instruction time.

Don't wait ... sign up for JOURNEYS  WEEKEND # 2 for Grades 6-8

St. Luke's is hosting the 2nd Diocesan JOURNEYS  weekend, a retreat experience for youth in school grades 6-8. The weekend will be held September 23-25 in the undercroft and the kids will join us for church that Sunday at 10 am. We are putting together the team right now.  If you are currently in grades 6, 7 or 8, sign up to attend the weekend and have FUN!

From those not in grades 6 - 8, we need your help to host this event!   We need:  high school kids to help lead the program; adult members of St. Luke's to help with meals - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday, and Breakfast on Sunday. Please speak to Fr. Eric, Miguel or Jay Phillippi to offer your assistance or if you have any questions regarding this weekend event for kids.

This is a wonderful opportunity to have a diocesan event here in Jamestown. Let's make it a great one and show some Southern (Tier) hospitality!
