URGENT RUMMAGE SALE NEWS
WHERE'S YOUR RUMMAGE?
We are getting close to the summer Rummage Sale and we need to decide soon if the rummage sale is going forward or not. Right now we don't have enough to make it worthwhile. If you are waiting to bring in your items, wait no longer. Our sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 5 & 6, and we need your donations right away if this is going to work.
When you bring in your items there are designated and labeled areas. Please help us by presorting as much as you can. The money raised by the sale goes directly to supporting our youth ministry. This summer our J2A class is having their pilgrimage and next summer Miguel is planning a mission trip.
If you have questions about the sale, please speak to Roxanne Wendling. You can reach Roxanne by calling 499-3629; or contact the church office to drop off your items to donate.
Also, we need helpers in the days leading up to the sale, the 1st week of August, and during the sale on the 5th and 6th of August. Please speak to Roxanne if you are able to give some time to assist with the Rummage Sale.

St. Benedict Retreat ... September 16-17
I know it's summer and Fall seems a long way off, but it's closer than you think! We need to get registrations in for the exciting parish retreat at Mt. St. Benedict Monastery in Erie PA September 16-17.
Mt. St. Benedict is located in a beautiful spot overlooking Lake Erie just East of Erie, PA. The sisters live according to the Rule of St. Benedict and are involved in a host of ministries in the Erie community and beyond and offer retreats and hospitality to many. Sister Carolyn Gorny-Kopkowski is not a stranger to St. Luke's. She led a retreat here a few years ago on the "Spirit of the Seasons."
This retreat will be entitled "The Monastery of the Heart: An Invitation to a Meaningful Life." The total cost of this retreat will be $50. This includes room plus three meals. A deposit of $20 should be included in your registration which is due no later than August 1. We are limiting this retreat to 15 people, so register right away to guarantee your place. The retreat will last from 4 pm Friday until 4 pm Saturday, a full Sabbath day for spiritual refreshment.

MUSIC NEWS | |
I would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate four first-rate vocalists who have shared their talents in recent services of worship. First was Matt Smith, who did a fantastic job on the solo baritone part in "Every Time I Feel the Spirit" on June 19. Then, on June 26, Gavin Card presented an excellent solo performance of "Sing Praise to the Mighty God" by J. S. Bach. Most recently, Elisabeth Rankin and Ruth Walton sang the delightful duet "Laudamus te" by Vivaldi with spirit and aplomb on July 10.
How blessed we are to have such talent in our midst!
