Singers Welcome!

Announcing a New Small Group for Singers

A Motet Group will meet approximately every three weeks to sing a capella music together.   We will also pray together, enjoy fellowship, good food and drink.  Our first gathering will be this Thursday, July 14th, 7:00 pm at the rectory, 311 Crossman St.  From there on we will meet at different places.  If you are interested, please speak to Peter Bumsted or Fr. Eric.  The music will be challenging and we recommend this group especially for those who can read music.

Centro Espiritu Santo

Fr. James Snodgrass from our diocese has established a church and retreat center in Aibonito, Puerto Rico.  As part of their ministry they have established a summer children's program and are looking for financial support.  If you are interested in helping, please send your contribution to "Centro Espiritu Santo", Box 127, Aibonito, PR 00705-0127.  All contributions are tax deductible.  To learn more about the center and their programs, you can go to www.espiritusantoaibonito.org.   Also, if you might be interested in a parish trip to visit the center at some point, speak to Fr. Eric.

3rd ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE  -   Aug 5 & 6

WHERE'S YOUR RUMMAGE?

We are now getting close to the summer Rummage Sale, which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 5 & 6.  We need your donations right away if this is going to work.  Also, we need helpers in the days leading up to and during the sale.  Our fearless leader is Roxanne Wendling.  She's really going to need our help this year. Please speak to Roxanne as soon as possible if you are able to give some time that week.

When you bring in your items there are designated and labeled areas.  Please help us by presorting as much as you can.  Thanks.

The money raised by the sale goes directly to supporting our youth ministry, especially our big trips.  This summer our J2A class is having their pilgrimage and next summer Miguel is planning a mission trip.

Any questions can be directed to

Roxanne at (716) 499-3629.

CONFIRMATION  - July 17

The Rt. Rev. R. William (Bill) Franklin, will be at St. Luke's for his first official visitation on Sunday, July 17th, for comfirmation, baptism and receiving.  He'll baptize, confirm and receive a wonderful group, and special reception for all will follow the 10 am worship that Sunday.

We know you'll enjoy getting to know "Bishop Bill."  Engaging, energetic and really smart, +Bill is on a mission to get to know as many members of the diocese as possible, and to learn the gifts for ministry in each parish, as he charts a course for our common life.

Please contact the church office if you are able to help with the reception on the 17th, and do plan to join us in worship at the 10 am service as we welcome new Christians to St. Luke's.

LOOP the LAKE Bicycle Ride, July 16

THIS Saturday, July 16th, is St. Luke's 8th annual "Loop the Lake" charity bicycle ride to support Episcopal Community Services (ECS).

This is an event that every member of St. Luke's can participate in either by riding or sponsoring a rider.  We live in a beautiful area and there is no better way to see the landscape than on a bike.

The ride begins and ends at 68 E Terrace Ave, Lakewood, NY, the home of Dave & Cilla Menzies.  Registration begins at 8:30 am and the ride at

9 am.  For additional information please contact Cilla or Dave Menzies at 716-763-4331.
