There are moments and then there are "real" moments.  We all know that a moment can define the direction you take and we know that a moment can make you or break you.  What is the Power of a "REAL" Moment?  What does having a "REAL" moment mean?

 

The best way I can explain this is from a life experience.  My husband and I were having a REAL moment Saturday and he is OK with me sharing this.  He has a hard time being 100% honest with me concerning his personal struggles because he does not want to hurt me.  It is not that he does not want to be honest, he would just rather not discuss his issues or thoughts with me if there is a chance it would hurt me and I am going to be honest by saying that I have not always responded to his honesty in the Godly way but I have reacted to his honesty out of fear; all of this changed Saturday.  Communicating goes a long way when you really listen to what the other person is saying and in the process are able to explain how you feel and what you are experiencing.  I may not agree with what my husband decides to do for himself, but I can accept him for being himself and love him just as he loves me for being who I am.  There is freedom in just being real.

 

Sometimes there are "perceived" moments that cause you to react in a negative way; these are the moments that are not real because they are based upon fear in our lives.  We react based upon past experiences, past hurts, past decisions, deceptions, manipulations and these reactions can cause division, confusion and everything the enemy would like to be made manifest in your life to take you off course.  Believe me I understand that when you are going through one of these moments it appears to be very real to you but it is not the REAL DEAL.

 

My husband and I were having a conversation which was a REAL moment for us.  We were very honest about our feelings which in one way was a bit uncomfortable for us but in a God way set us free to be perfectly honest with each other.  Questions were asked and answers were given.  To be completely honest we had not experienced a REAL moment like this in a long time.  The Holy Spirit was working under an open heaven.  During the end of the conversation my husband made a joking statement to me which I misunderstood and the enemy tried to use it to rob this great REAL moment by messing with my perception.  Again communication was the key, I explained to my husband how the statement made me confused and he explained that he was joking with me, once I knew the truth behind the fun he was having my perception gave way to the truth in the situation.  I was able to enjoy the victory of my REAL moment.  

 

The REAL moment was very uncomfortable but it was REAL GOD STUFF!  Most of the time when God wants to change things in us it is uncomfortable and it was His desire to set me free in another area of my life and to set my husband free to be who he is.  God showed me that He is in control and that I must trust HIM rather than my own abilities, my own thoughts or ways. 

 

Victory is mine and it is yours.  Experience real moments in your life, the moments that change you, the moments that take you to a new level of glory in Him.  These moments will more than likely be uncomfortable but once fear has been overcome the freedom flows and in the freedom process the darkness comes out into the light and darkness FLEES it has too!
