Greetings!

Logo-Florida League of Cities and FSA"We all want clean water. However, the EPA's mandates seem like they will do more to harm Florida's local government taxpayers than provide real results," said Rebecca O'Hara, Director of Legislative Affairs, The Florida League of Cities, Inc.

The Florida League of Cities Inc. (FLC) and Florida Stormwater Association Inc. (FSA) have filed a federal lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over new numeric nutrient criteria regulations for Floridas waters.  The lawsuit is asking the federal court to force the EPA to abandon its unprecedented action against Florida and to take another look and conduct proceedings consistent with federal law.

BEFORE YOU COME UP WITH AN OPINION ABOUT FLORIDAs Aggressive stormwater discharge limits...investigate for yourself.  Hopefully a good compromise can be reached that will help business but also protect Floridas very stressed surface waters.  It's important that our kids enjoy the same environment (water quality and economy) that we've been able to enjoy in our lives.

Little Girl Fishing in Lake
We All Live Down Stream!
Remember that your site is not the only one getting rained or snowed on.  IT ALL GOES TO THE CREEK!  Watersheds are stressed beyond their ability to clean up the mess we put in them.  So the next time you finish a responsible construction project, take a drive, go for a hike, catch a fish or celebrate a successful hunt.....take a moment to think a grateful thought, make a difference somewhere with someone, and give thanks and honor to the United States of America and the sacrifice our past and present military men and women have provided so we can enjoy the liberty and freedom we share, and so easily take for granted!

This Newsletter is intended to be a useful tool for all individuals involved stormwater management, especially those on construction sites.  There is a lot happening now with water regulations!  If you have areas of interest you would like to discuss, or areas of concern you would like included in this newsletter, please contact us at 678-469-5120.
