HOT OFF THE GRILL

Gayle's Sweet 'N' Sassy Newsletter

Greetings!

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July holiday! I hope you are able to celebrate with your friends and family, possibly gathered around a grill with some fabulous BBQ!

Look for Gayle's BBQ sauce in the extra large 40 oz in selective Costco's for those extra large gatherings or just to stock up for summer days of grilling!

Soon, we will be switching out our standard glass retail bottles to a new plastic 18 oz bottle!  These new bottles are great for picnics and enjoying outdoors or by the pool... they are unbreakable, and Gayle's taste is un-matchable!!  Gayle

Enjoy,
-Gayle

Cocktail Sauce (recipe follows)

Dry Rub:
1 1/2 cups paprika
3/4 cup sugar
3 3/4 tablespoons onion powder

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1/2 lemon, juiced
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Serve chilled.

Directions
Rinse shrimp thoroughly in cold water and place in large bowl. Mix cloves, seasoned salt, thyme, mustard, celery salt, pepper, and dry rub seasoning in a small bowl. Sprinkle shrimp with the seasoning mixture and toss. Add lemon juice and the BBQ sauce and mix thoroughly. Cover and let marinate for 20 minutes.
Preheat grill to a medium heat. Place shrimp on grill, directly over heat. Cook for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes per side and fully cooked. Serve with cocktail sauce and garnish with lemon wedges.

**side note: if this is wayyy too many ingredients or steps for you, and you want a quick, easy appetizer for your guests STAT!?! I have been known to serve straight up Extra Sassy BBQ Sauce along with chilled shrimp... it actually doesn't require much to have a tasty, cool summer shrimp cocktail!  Experiment & Enjoy!
