HOT OFF THE GRILL

Gayle's Sweet 'N' Sassy Newsletter

Greetings!

As we end May and look forward to warmer days, it's already time to plan your longer summer days.

June is the great outdoors month. There are so many interesting and exciting things to do outdoors. Dust off your picnic blanket, pick up an assortment of cheeses, gourmet crackers, and grab a great bottle of wine and your favorite bottle of Gayle's BBQ Sauce. Pick a spot under a tree and enjoy cheese and crackers with a dash of Gayle's poured on top for an extra hit of flavor!

June is also the month to think about summer plans. School is out and beaches and parks are screaming out for everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Father's Day is June 19.  Rather than another tie, or something dad will stuff in his closet, take the time to write a personal thought to share with him. Your dad will treasure it forever.  Often times words go unsaid of what we most love about one another... This would be the perfect opportunity to share a moment, thought or experience that you had with your dad.www.gaylesbbq.com

I wish that my dad was here, so that I could tell him how much he guided me with his wisdom, loving words, and gentle touch.

We are also getting ready for Gayle's Greatest Hot Dog Recipe Contest again... read below for more information on how to enter!!!

L'il Gayle's Gliders

Ingredients

·6 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breast

·6 Whole Wheat Buns or 12 mini buns

·Salt and Pepper

·1 Bottle of your favorite Gayle's BBQ Sauce

Instructions

Place chicken breasts, along with salt and pepper to taste, in a large pot of water and boil until fully cooked through. (Time will vary depending on whether you are using fresh or frozen chicken.)

Once the chicken is cooked, use a fork to pull the meat apart so it is thickly shredded. (Shredding too finely will cause the sandwich to become mushy once sauce is added.) Place pulled chicken in a large bowl.

Add a half bottle (approx. 7 servings worth, or about 14 tbsp.) of Gayle's BBQ sauce. Toss until chicken is coated.

Distribute chicken evenly onto buns. You may choose to toast the buns first, or add toppings like lettuce or red onion to the mixture, or spread a small amount of the sauce right onto the bun before assembling. This delicious alternative to the classic bbq sandwich will be a hit any way you serve it!

Makes 6 servings.
