HOT OFF THE GRILL

Gayle's Sweet 'N' Sassy Newsletter

Greetings!

Spring brings a fresh new outlook on life. Start off on the right foot with a new healthy start and positive view on life. April is stress awareness month, so give yourself a treat and take a long walk. The new guideline for nutrition and physical activity suggest most adults receive health benefits if they are moderately active for at least 30 minutes on most days of the week. Walking is a simple, pleasurable and inexpensive way to be physically active. Seek opportunities to enjoy beautiful and interesting scenery on foot AND do something good for your health at the same time.

We have always been aware of the benefits of a healthy product. That is why we make sure that Gayle's BBQ sauces are Gluten Free, Fat Free, Saturated Fat Free, and Cholesterol Free. After your long walk, treat yourself to a sandwich filled with your favorite protein and pour on the Gayle's BBQ Sauce. You will be sure to have a delicious and healthy addition to your meal!

As Mother's Day fast approaches, I feel incredibly blessed to have two amazing daughters and a loving family who makes this day a very special one for me.

I have become involved with an organization that gives recognition to all of the remarkable woman who deserve to be honored on this day. If you would like to find out more information about this event, please visit Alt Mother's Day

I also encourage each and every one of us to see how we can help in some small way the people of Japan in this very difficult time.

I wish you all a very Happy Easter and Passover.

L'il Gayle's Recipe Corner...

As warmer weather approaches, many of you may be ready to bypass the soups and grab a lighter recipe to bring on the heat. When the sun's out, barbecue is a popular choice and this recipe for BBQ pasta salad is a must-try! Plus, this tasty meal only takes about 10 minutes to make!!!

Ingredients:

ˇ1 pound fusilli pasta
ˇ2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
ˇ1 teaspoon hot sauce
ˇ1/2 teaspoon chili powder
ˇ1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
ˇPinch cayenne pepper
ˇ1 cup mayonnaise
ˇ1/2 cup Gayle's Apple Cider Smoke BBQ Sauce (or your favorite Gayle's BBQ Sauce)
ˇ1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped fine
ˇ2 ribs celery, chopped fine
ˇ2 whole scallions, sliced thin
ˇKosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
ˇchopped parsley leaves, for garnish

Directions:

Boil 4 quarts of water in a large pot over high heat. Salt the water and then add the pasta and cook it until it is tender - this should take about 10 minutes. Drain pasta in a colander and then transfer to a large bowl.

In another large bowl, mix vinegar, hot sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, mayonnaise and Gayle's BBQ Sauce. Add the chopped vegetables and toss them to coat them in the mixture. Pour vegtable mixture over the pasta and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.

Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, garnish with parsley and enjoy!

You can also add some protein to this pasta salad by adding Gayle's Pulled Pork.. Just follow Gayle's recipe for pulled pork Then place 8 ounces of the pulled pork on top of the salad mixture and keep refrigerated until you are ready to enjoy!
