HOT OFF THE GRILL

Gayle's Sweet 'N' Sassy Newsletter

Greetings!

October brings with it the coolness of autumn weather. The air begins to turn as the summer months fade away with fond memories...

The first frost usually happens in October in the North Temperate Zone. Leaves change to their brilliant colors, and begin to fall, making the ground a beautiful haven of colors. Football usually dominates the scene as well as the beginning of hockey season, along with my favorite sport, basketball!

We celebrate the day Columbus landed in America on October 12 1492, and William the Conqueror won the Battle of Hastings, which assured the conquest of England October 14 1066.

And, Thank you Thomas Edison for the first successful demonstration of your electric light (Oct 19 1879)!

Embrace the coming of winter and BBQ in the warmth of your kitchen. Gayle's BBQ Sauces are a great way to keep the summer months fresh in your mind.

Remember, Gayle's was the ORIGINAL BBQ Sauce that hit the scene 26 years ago, on the newly famous BBQ Chicken Pizza..
We are proud to say that we are still the BBQ sauce of choice for BBQ Chicken Pizzas, salads, and dip for your favorite veggies!!!

Please remember to keep your children safe on Halloween. Wear bright colors and light reflected costumes,. And remember... Never ever eat candy that is unwrapped.
Happy Halloween!

Robyn's chopped dogs - 3 ways
by Robyn Ridgley

Dog #1 chop a hot dog into small pieces..add your favorite Gayle's BBQ sauce..mix & place in bun.

Dog #2 chop a dog into small pieces.  In small bowl, mix about a tablespoon or so of ketchup, another of yellow mustard, about half tsp mayo (optional), dash of Tabasco... mix in chopped dog & put on bun.. (grated melted cheddar can go on top optional).

Dog #3 Steam broccoli, cauliflower, carrots until tender. Mince (chop small..about the size of pickle relish pieces). While hot, stir in grated mixed cheeses, i.e. sharp cheddar, jack, a bit of jarlsburg or some aged farmer's gouda & jarlsburg).. add dash of garlic powder & cayenne (or Tabasco).. it should be creamier (you can make a cheese sauce from the cheeses & fold in the minced veggies too).. Top the dog w/lots of it.. it's HEALTHY, has fiber & really good.. You can leave it as just a veggie dog, or you can also chop up a hot dog and add it into the veggie mix!

NOTE:  the chopped dog is interesting and unique.. it comes in really handy if you have 9/10 people & 8 dogs.
To fill more buns, you can chop more dogs & make more sauce..
