HOT OFF THE GRILL

Gayle's Sweet 'N' Sassy Newsletter

Greetings!

It may feel like a natural instinct to reach for chips, candy, or soda when you are stressed, but these items only worsen stress by increasing oxidative damage in your body. Your body now has to work twice as hard to purge existing stress as well as oxidative damage from poor dietary choices..

We should fill our fridges with berries and other antioxidant-rich, brightly colored produce in order to counteract this damage.

The month of June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month. Before you decide to inhale a box of cookies, grab a bunch of carrots or other favorite veggie instead, and start dipping them in one of your favorite flavors of Gayle's BBQ Sauces!

June 18th is also National Picnic Day.. Instead of smothering your sandwich in high calorie mayonnaise, give yourself a treat; use one of your favorite Gayle's BBQ Sauces to enhance the flavor of your chicken, veggie or tuna sandwich.

BBQ sauce is not only lower in calories than mayonnaise, but it is made up of mostly tomatoes, which is a great source of vitamin C. It provides 40 percent of the daily value (DV) of Vitamin C. It also contains 15% of the DV of vitamin A , 8% DV of potassium, and 7% of the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) of Iron for woman, and 10% for men.

Red pigment contains a large amount of Lycopene. This compound appears to act as an antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals that can damage cells in the body.

You see, eating Gayle's BBQ sauce not only tastes delicious, but it's really good for you too! We are proud to produce a product that is Fat Free, Trans fat free, and Gluten Free.. I bet you didn't know Gayle's was so good!

And we'd like to wish all of our special Fathers, a healthy and happy Fathers Day!

Enjoy,
-Gayle  Gayle

June celebrates Father's Day, Turkey Lover's Month, National Picnic Day, and the first day of summer... so many reasons to enjoy a great BBQ!

Gayle's CraZy-cado BBQ hotdogs
8 Hot Dogs (I use turkey dogs)
Hot dog buns
1 package of bacon (I use turkey bacon)
1 (12 ounce) bottle of your favorite Gayle's BBQ Sauce
1 Avacado diced
1 Tomato diced

Directions
Wrap each hot dog with one slice of bacon. Add wrapped hot dogs to your hot grill and BBQ until bacon is crispy.

Put hotdogs in buns, add diced avocado and tomato, and drizzle with Gayle's BBQ Sauce! Easy, done, enjoy!

hot dogNOTE: I was enjoying just the sliced avacodo with Gayle's BBQ Sauce poured over the top. It was amazing how good these two flavors are together! I used Extra Sassy... But you can try all five different flavors of Gayle's BBQ Sauce.

Mashed BBQ Sweet Potatoes
4 medium red garnet sweet potatoes, peeled
1 teaspoon butter
Gayle's Extra Sassy BBQ Sauce
Salt
1 inch peeled ginger
oil for frying

Chop the sweet potatoes into uniform sized pieces. Fill a pot with cold water, add a healthy dose of salt, add the potatoes, bring to a boil and simmer until cooked through.

Meanwhile, using a very sharp knife, slice the ginger root into very thin threads. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and add the ginger to fry until just golden. Remove and drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt and hold until ready to use.

When the potatoes are done, drain, and add the butter. Mash well and add Gayle's BBQ Sauce to taste.

To serve, top with frizzled ginger.

Makes 6 - 8 servings.
