Coat the turkey with salt, pepper and chopped garlic and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Place lemon in the cavity of the turkey.

Pairing wine with BBQ Sauce |
So, you are throwing a holiday dinner party, and you need to spice things up a little bit...how about pairing wines with some of these delicious BBQ recipes?
BBQ' s best buddy in the wine world is Zinfandel. Try it with the BBQ Turkey Recipe we mentioned above. There are Syrah & Petite Syrahs for example, the 2004 Syrah from Zaca Mesa Vineyards goes great with BBQ ribs!
Simple and Delicious BBQ Ribs... Gayle's Extra Sassy BBQ Sauce Salt and Pepper Olive Oil Pork or Beef Ribs
Coat ribs with olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook your ribs on a low grill for 1 ½ to 2 hours. Remove and place into your crock pot or slow cooker, cover your ribs with Gayle's BBQ sauce and let them sit until your guests arrive. This is a great appetizer that can be kept warm without taking up any of your burners, so you can leave space for all your other holiday cooking. BBQ shrimp works best with a Grenache or Grenache blend. Pair your favorite varietal with our Bacon wrapped Shrimp recipe.
Sassy BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp... Gayle's Honey BBQ Sauce Bacon Jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined Toothpicks Marinade your shrimp in Gayle's Honey BBQ sauce for about 30 minutes. Cut the slices of bacon in half. Partially cook the bacon to remove some of the fat without the bacon getting to crisp, as it has to go on the grill again and be wrapped around the shrimp. Remove shrimp from the bbq marinade and save the remaining bbq sauce for later. Wrap a slice of bacon around each shrimp and secure with a toothpick to hold both ends of the bacon. Place shrimp on hot grill for 4 minutes; turn and brush shrimp with remaining bbq marinade and grill for 4 more minutes and serve. Check back next month as we explore more in-depth nuances pairing wines with great bbq recipes. We'll give you our ideas to help you discover the wines you enjoy best with BBQ!
