DELHI
Heritage of Old Delhi Walk
- With a 3000-year-old history that has seen seven different cities, Delhi is presently India's capital and offers a fascinating blend of ancient and contemporary. Medieval palaces and bazaars exist within a modern metropolis.
- Sightseeing includes Red Fort (from the outside), Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque) where more than 20,000 people can kneel in prayer at once, and the Raj Ghat, where Ghandi was cremated, on the banks of the Yamuna River.
- Our walk takes us through the narrow lanes of the city, the Parathewali Gali, Moti Bazaar, Katra Neel, and the spice market. The colorful bazaars of Chandni Chowk are crowded with people, animals, and life!
AGRA
- Our main event here is a visit to the incomparable Taj Mahal, built in the early 17th century to commemorate the death of Queen Mumtaz, wife of Emperor Shah Jahan.
- Also of note is Agra Fort, built about 100 years earlier by the Mughal King Akbar.
RANTHAMBORE
Ranthambore Fort Walk
- The primary attraction here is the tiger reserve along the biosphere of the Chambal River. A naturalist will accompany us on two game drive safaris.
- In addition to tigers, we'll be on the lookout for a large variety of birds, nilgai (antelope family), and cheetal deer.
- Between game drives, we walk to Ranthambore Fort, offering stunning views over the park and seven kilometers of fortress walls protecting the ruins of palaces, temples, cenotaphs, and houses.

JAIPUR
Jaipur Market Walk
Activities in the area include:
- A visit to the Amber Fort (perhaps with an elephant ride);
- Hawa Mahal, an 18th century palace with 953 windows and niches to allow the royal women to see but not be seen;
- Jantar Mantar, built by the astrologer King Jai Singh II, with intricate stone and marble facing to measure the movements of the heavens;
- A walk to explore the exotic appeal of Chandpole Bazaar, Khajanewalo ka Rasta Market, and the marble statue market (largest in India).
DEOGARH Deogarh Village Walk
Rural Rajasthan Walk - Ride to Phulad on a 1930's narrow-gauge train with wonderful mountain views, 100-foot high bridges, and remote one-man stations. This is a local experience where the monkeys descend from the forest to be fed by our fellow passengers.
- Visit Deogarh Village to watch villagers perform day-to-day activities: women carrying water in clay jars balanced on their heads, artisans at work as potters, cobblers, textile workers, carpenters, jewelers - life conducted as it has been for centuries.
- Take an early morning walk between 2 villages to experience the busy local life at this time of day: children headed for school, women already at work around the house, the older generation sitting sedately in courtyards.
RANAKPUR
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary Walk
- Ranakpur Jain Temples - 15th century temples renowned for their marvelously carved 29 halls with 1,444 pillars sprawling over 48,000 square feet
- A nature walk into Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary that features a 10th century Jain (ancient offshoot of Hinduism) temple; a remote tribal village belonging to the Garasiya people, living a primitive life as sheep herders; a small Hindu temple that rises up from dense forest in an uninhabited area like something out of a Rudyard Kipling novel
