We follow the famed Way of Saint James (El Camino de Santiago) for part of this Adventure through Northern Spain. Our program starts, however, in Barcelona as we depart for the tiny principality of Andorra. From Andorra, we'll continue along the north flank of the Pyrenees in France, winding along the picturesque seaside of the Basque Coast before dropping down to the mountains of northern Spain. The Way of Saint James provides a fascinating blueprint to discover the history, culture, and scenery of this fabled region of the Pyrenees and northeast Spain. Some of Spain's best cuisine and most celebrated wines will sustain us as we enjoy a variety of walk venues in these three countries.

**Dan and Pat will be heading to Spain in August for a planning tour. Many things change during a planning tour and Dan and Pat will be reviewing the program with an eye toward developing great walks, providing alternate options when the walks are difficult, crafting the routing so that it is not too strenuous yet hits the most important sites, and reviewing the overall length of the tour. One thing they will be considering is an extension down into Portugal. The tour would then end in Lisbon, not Madrid. We would be interested in hearing from any of you who have strong views on this as we need to set up our planning itinerary immediately.
