How about joining us for a Christmas summer in Antarctica? Sounds like the mother of all  oxymorons, doesn't it? Explanation: We are visiting the 7th continent during the month of December, but of course summer south of the equator is during our North American winter, and the only time non-polar-acclimated visitors like us can travel to these often-inhospitable climes!
We now have space available on our Christmas in Antarctica Adventure in December 2009 (Click here to see the Christmas in Antarctica slideshow!). When we first opened this program up last spring, it appeared the ship would sell out fast, and indeed, our second Antarctica Adventure in February 2010 was full within days! However, we currently have only 16 travelers registered for the shorter December 2009 Adventure, and our Antarctica partners at the M/V Polar Star just made us an excellent offer.
 Space is now available on the December sailing, and since the ship is small, the Polar Star staff really prefers a full ship before shoving off from Ushuaia, Argentina. The upshot is that if we have 4 more travelers join the Adventure (20 passengers are necessary to qualify for this offer), they will authorize us to credit the entire group with $400 each off the Adventure price!
In addition, we have just finalized the optional pre-tour - Buenos Aires & the End of the World. Since North Americans must fly through Buenos Aires to get to Ushuaia, the southernmost city on the planet and the jumping off point for our cruise to Antarctica, we decided to take advantage of the logistics and offer a pre-tour. The program includes walks in Buenos Aires and Tierra del Fuego National Park that parallels the Beagle Channel just south of Ushuaia, and several other attractions that will give us a taste of Argentinean history, culture, and scenery!  We don't know how many spaces the ship has left, but at this point, we do have room for 4 more travelers on this first-ever WAI Adventure to the 7th continent.
