The Peddie School Athletic & Aquatic Center
The Peddie School wanted to create a gathering place for students and athletes while improving the facilities for their sports teams and physical education program. The centerpiece of the new Athletic and Aquatic Center is the natatorium, which is used for Peddie's swim meets and by the local community. Other sports facilities are accessible through the building, and the lighting helps to unite the disparate areas with the use of a cohesive lighting concept throughout the public spaces. At night, the entire Athletic Center becomes a softly glowing presence on the Peddie campus, creating a sense of place and inspiring school spirit and pride. For special events or after a successful swim meet, the walls can turn "Peddie Blue," and become a visual icon for the campus.
As they did for The Peddie School, the designers at Illumination Arts can create beautiful and functional lighting solutions that help to establish all types of campus buildings as tangible, architectural symbols of school pride.
