2009 Year in Review

2009 was a year of growth and recognition for Illumination Arts.

Thank You to all our valued clients who contributed to an exciting and challenging year!

Illuminating Engineering Society Recognizes Illumination Arts
IA was honored to have two projects from very different market sectors presented with prestigious awards from the IESNA.

National Audubon Society Headquarters

Audobon
Designed to meet the highest levels of aesthetic, functional and sustainable design goals, The National Audubon Society Headquarters was awarded LEED-CI Platinum certification, with the most points ever awarded a project in that category.  Working with architect FXFOWLE, Illumination Arts designed a lighting system that garnered all of the lighting-related LEED points available, including three for Energy Optimization and one each for Lighting Controls and Controllability of Systems.

Biloxi Bay Bridge

Bilxoi Bay BridgeThe Biloxi Bay Bridge restored the connection between two communities that had been severed following the demolition of the original bridge during Hurricane Katrina.  Illumination Arts teamed with Parsons and Touchstone Architecture in developing a lighting design for the bridge that celebrates this connection, both literally and symbolically.  Illumination Arts' lighting design for the bridge spans the bay from shore-to-shore and ties the bridge to the water and earth, expressing the strength of the structure and the resiliency of the two communities.

Faith Baum among the "Best in NJ"
WIB LogoAll of us at IA were thrilled and proud to celebrate Faith's award as one of NJBiz magazines' 2009 50 Best Women in Business.  The award recognized Faith's achievement in her roles as both a business owner and an active volunteer in her community.  Last year's 50 Best award recipients were selected from a field of hundreds of accomplished businesswomen in all industries, from banking to healthcare, gelato to engineering, accounting to - of course - Lighting Design.
