I hope this months newsletter finds you well. Can you believe summer is almost over. I have actually worn a sweater the last couple of days.
I want to introduce you to a couple of exciting additions at Path To Wellness. Additions that we believe we will be a major benefit to many of you. We've spent the last four months reviewing different companies and have partnered with a couple of new suppliers with product that I guarantee with help with you spine and your health.
ORTHOTICS -- We have partnered with a coFoot Levelers, a company that has been making Stabilizers for more than 50 years. They are the best manufacturer of orthotics in the industry. And just as important, they are working hard with us to keep their pricing at levels that will be benefical to each of you.
Foot Levelers uses top of the line computerized scanning processes of your feet (rather than the mold process) to produce the best Orthotic possible. Along with the scanning and their pricing, a couple of other advantages for to you are the speed with which they create your Orthotic; the warranty's they carry; the materials they use to create your othotics; finally, the number of different products available to you.
If you have never worn a foot stabilizer, they can truly make a difference in your life. Stabilizers are not just for your feet. They also help properly support your back, hips, ankles and pelvis by providing a balanced foundation for your body.
Since Foot Leverlers was started by a Chiropractor, they truly understand the value of Chiroptractic work...support from Orthotics and then rehabilition.
Stop by today and get your feet scanned. We have an incredible Introductory Special between now and the end of the month. It takes just minutes but it will help for years.
Our other new addition is KINESIO TAPING. So many of our Path To Wellness clients are runners or involved in other physical activities that we felt it important to add this special feature. If you are not aware of this practice, KINESIO TAPING is the definitive rehabilitative taping method within the international medical community. KINESIO TAPING is completely latex free and made from the highest quality materials meaning it can be used by patients of every age and condition for 3-5 days per application. Just some of the benefits of being taped are... · Re-educate the neuromuscular system · Reduce pain · Enhance performance · Prevent injury · Promote good circulation and healing
So stop by and check out these new additions to our practice. One thing is sure. At Path To Wellness Chiropractic, we will never become complacant. We will always strive to give you the most "up-to-date" therapies available at the best possible pricing.
Yours in better health,
Dr. Lauren |

Condition of the Month
Who is at risk for Osteoporosis?
Over 20 million American women have osteoporosis, but 80% of them are not aware of it. Osteoporosis is a chronic, progressive condition that steals bone from the body, often leading to fractures of the hip, wrist, and spine. Many older people suffer disability and even death from osteoporosis-related fractures. While osteoporosis will affect one in two women, it also affects one in eight men. At Path To Wellness Chiropractoic, we can help you check for osteoporosis and maintain and improve the health of your bones. It is important to find out how healthy your bones are, so you can make lifestyle and dietary changes if necessary.
Risk Factors: 1. Being female - especially thin, Caucasian, or Asian. 2. Having a family history of osteoporosis. 3. Being older 4. Being physically inactive
5. Taking corticosteroids, thyroid medications, anticonvulsants, anticoagulants, Dilantin, diuretics, antacids with aluminum, and drugs that alter digestion, such as Ranitidine 6. Smoking 7. Heavy alcohol consumption 8. Heavy consumption of coffee and carbonated beverages 9. Low intake of calcium 10. Chronic diseases of the kidney, lung, stomach, and intestines 11. Hormonal changes because of menopause or hysterectomy 12. Lactose intolerance, low stomach acid
Incorporating exercise into your lifestyle, not smoking, and eating well-balanced foods especially those rich in calcium can help you maintain good bone strength.
Most important, if you are concerned at all, make an appointment today. |
Our newest section
We want to hear from you...please!!!
Each newsletter we will publish one of the many notes or letters we get from you. So this puts you on notice, please send us your thoughts about Path To Wellness. You might just see yourself in print.
I recently consulted Dr. Roberson because of headaches, dizziness and numbness in the right hand and arm. My symptoms kept getting worse as time from my auto accident. When my headache and dizziness were bad enough to miss work, I became very concerned and decided to try chiropractic. I found Dr. Roberson to be very concerned and professional. After just one week, my headaches lessened and within two weeks of seeing her three times a week, my headaches completely disappeared. Path to Wellness Chiropractic did what 14 months of physical therapy and medication could not. I tell anyone who will listen about chiropractic. Don't rule out the help of chiropractic treatment until you have talked to one. I wish I would have done this long ago. Lucy H.

Protect Your Eyes If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer monitor, you should be taking proper precautions to keep your eyes healthy. Here are five tips:
Make sure your work station is adjustable. This is especially important if you share your workspace with other people.
Keep office lighting to a minimum. It's best to have a desk lamp to minimize the strain that fluorescent lights puts on your eyes-on top of computer glare.
Make sure you have annual eye exams. If you spend a lot of time looking at screens, you're more susceptible to eye strains. It's important to visit your eye doctor regularly.
Take a lot of breaks. Try to look away from your computer screen every 20 minutes to a half hour for about five minutes.
Shade windows to minimize glare on monitors. |

It is our pleasure to serve you... How crazy is it that we are turning the corner and heading into the final quarter of 2009. Can you believe it? We are weeks from Halloween and the start of the Holiday season. Wow, 2010 and the end of the first decade of the 21st Century is just three months away.
Path To Wellness Chiropractic wants to remind you that if you have have any kind of chiropractic problem, now would be the perfect time to have it addressed. Chances are, if you are like most, you've probably met your deductible for this year. You should also know that if you have not been in to see a doctor between January 1st through October 1st, 2009, most insurance companies will apply any money you spend this year toward next year's deductible. (We will be more than happy to call your insurer and find out.) If you are in need of care and would like to save money, this would be a great time for you to stop by.
And don't forget the other members of your family. We cannot remind you enough about the advantages of bringing your children in for continual maintenance. Please give it a try and we know you will agree. | |
