Before and After: Bringing Up The Rear

Rear addition, remodel, deck and stairs in Berkeley
Two pictures are worth a thousand words. Whenever and whatever you plan to remodel, be sure to take a series of 'before' photos first. Include as many angles as you can. Imagine the 'after' angles that you will be shooting for comparison. This gives you a history of your house, valuable to you in sharing with your family and friends, future generations, and for sale purposes as well.

Color Me Satisfied: Design Tips
 Diningroom remodel in El Cerrito
Color plays an important role in the ambience, comfort and perception of your home. Professionals often recommend neutral colors to improve your sale prospects, but you might not be planning to sell your home. Your own color preferences plus a few handy color design tips might help you make your selections.
Colors have an emotional impact on people. The cool colors (blues, violets and greens) are calming and classical and the warm colors (reds, oranges, yellows) are stimulating and bold. Decide which atmosphere you want to promote in the room, and then from the cool or warm colors select those that you like and would be happy living with.
Don't be afraid to be a little daring: it will lend interest and brighten up the room. Add black accents for drama. Mute colors with white or gray to tone them down.
Take the long view and imagine going from one room into the next. Will the colors flow, contrast attractively, or clash? You can add accents that will resonate between two or among three consecutive rooms.
