President's Message,
Libby Isaacson, ABRM, ESRES, GRI
Libby
Dear Fellow REALTORS® and Affiliates,

Whether you are new to the real estate business or you have been a real estate professional for many years, NAR's Pathways to Professionalism is a must-have tool you can use to guide you through your business activities. The National Association of REALTORS® developed this voluntary guideline to provide a sound base of recommended business practices targeted toward the public, clients and other REALTORS®. Please consider reviewing this information and integrate these practices into your professional plan! After all, real estate is a reputation business and we all want the professional benefits we can derive from being our very best!

Earlier this month, the New England REALTORS® Conference took place in Connecticut.  Members and leadership of local boards and state associations gathered together to share best practices, valuable experiences and identify key issues facing REALTORS® and the real estate industry today.

We heard encouraging and realistic remarks from NAR's Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun, PhD. Dr. Yun is one of the leading US housing economists. A respected expert in his discipline, Dr. Yun creates housing forecasts that are available to all REALTOR® members.  His team compiles data, creates research documents and provides assistance for your use through realtor.org. We are fortunate to have his expertise as a resource to our members!

We also gained valuable insight from the legal presentation given by NAR's Chief Legal Counsel, Laurie Janik.  Ms. Janik gave attendees interesting insight into legal pitfalls and pending cases that have affected REALTORS® and REALTOR® associations from across the country.

The last piece of information I want to share with you is the value of RPAC and the significance of your contribution.  Together, we have a powerful voice in Washington, D.C.!  If you have contributed to RPAC through your dues payment, thank you!  If you have not yet joined us, there will be many ways for you to participate throughout the year!

The New England REALTORS® Conference program details may be viewed here.  It was my pleasure to represent the Board and our Members as your 2010 President.

Sincerely,

 Libby

Libby Isaacson

2010 President GPBOR
