Greetings!
I would like to thank Cathy Panniccia of Rhode Island Housing for sponsoring and presenting "Show Me the Money", a seminar for REALTORS® that highlighted the Neighborhood Stabilization Funds and the resouces available to you through local community housing organizations. The event was well attended and we had very good feedback about the program and the panel!
This month, on June 26, we are co-sponsoring a seminar to discuss Independent Contractor Law and what it means to REALTORS®. This seminar, presented by the Herbert H. Landy Insurance Agency, will also address professional risk management and show you helpful ways to set up your business to minimize the down-side. We are pleased to offer this seminar as a complimentary member benefit to you!
Also, I am excited to announce that the RI Chapter of the Young Professionals Network is hosting an event to celebrate this new opportunity for REALTORS®! Please join us on June 30th to explore the possibilities the YPN has to offer!

| Fire Safety Code Update |

The Fire Safety Code Board of Appeal and Review voted to postpone the fire safety requirements for three-unit dwellings until December 31, 2010.
At that time, all three unit dwellings will be required to have hard-wired interconnected smoke detectors in each unit and common areas of the building. |

REALTORS® Federal Credit Union is Open for Business! |
The National Association of REALTORS® announced the formation of the REALTORS® Federal Credit Union (RFCU) at the Mid-Year Meetings in Washington, DC this past month. The REALTORS® Federal Credit Union was established to address the unique financial and business needs of REALTORS®.
REALTOR® Mike Brody, the Chair of the REALTORS® FCU Board of Directors and former NAR Treasurer said, "The credit union is a great member benefit for REALTORS®. REALTORS® Federal Credit Union will be open 24/7 and is completely Web-based with U.S.-based call-center support. Because operations will be on the Internet, REALTORS® FCU will be sensitive to the work habits and lifestyles of REALTORS®, most of whom are independent contractors who are compensated by commissions."
All REALTORS® and their families are eligible to become REALTORS® FCU members. Capture that Thought with Evernote
Working as a REALTOR® requires more than your standard desk job. Many real estate professionals fill their schedules with out-of-office meetings, showings, and appointments, making it difficult to keep track of information that is processed throughout the day. There is, however, a new online program that gives users the opportunity to easily catalogue and sync valuable information between their portable media devices and personal computers.
"Evernote" is a program you can access free of charge. It allows you to capture photos, text, video, and audio recordings on your portable media device (cell phone or PDA) and syncs the media with your personal computer, making the information easy to access and organize. The program is available for download at www.evernote.com.
