President's Message
Victoria Doran, GRI |
|

Greetings!
On September 17th the Greater Providence Board of REALTORS® met at the Squantum Association for our 102nd Annual Meeting and Luncheon. We had a beautiful day and enjoyed the networking opportunities as well as the business meeting. It was our pleasure to present the proceeds of our 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic to the Child Life Program at Hasbro Children's Hospital, the RI Community Food Bank and the RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
On Thursday, October 30, 2008 we will be joining the local Boards from across the State of Rhode Island and the RI Association of REALTORS® for our 2008 REALTOR® Recognition Dinner at the Atlantic Beach Club. This event will highlight each REALTOR® of the Year from our local boards and one of the five local winners will be chosen to represent Rhode Island as our 2008 REALTOR® of the Year. Please join me and the GPBOR Board of Directors for what is sure to be a wonderful evening!
Please be mindful that your dues bills will be mailed to you this month. Per a recent policy change, the full payment for your 2009 membership will be due on or before December 15, 2008. This early notice and payment structure was put into place for your convenience - so that you have the ability to pay your dues well in advance of the holiday season!
This will be my last President's Message to you by way of our monthly newsletter. It has been an honor to serve as your 2008 President and I look forward to continuing my service to the REALTOR® Association! At the beginning of my term, I promised to focus on the 3 C's - Committees, Civic Involvement and Communication with the membership. I am so pleased that we have met these goals in 2008! I would encourage you to take a moment to review some of the accomplishments we have shared together this year. This 2008 President's Report was distributed at our Annual Meeting.
I encourage you to continue your involvement with the Greater Providence Board of REALTORS® as we strive to bring you quality services and membership value at affordable prices!
I wish you all well and I look forward to seeing you at the Atlantic Beach Club on October 30th!
Sincerely-
Victoria E. Doran
2008 President, GPBOR |

| Technology Tip |
Michael Pereira, Chair
GPBOR Tech Committee
The Center for REALTOR® Technology
This month, I would like to highlight the National Association of REALTORS® Center for REALTOR® Technology or 'CRT'. The mission of CRT is to assist brokers, agents, multiple listing services and REALTOR® associations in the development, selection and use of technologies that enhance the way they do business.
Created in August 2001, the Center has assisted REALTORS® in evaluating, implementing and applying emerging technologies to expand technology in their business practice and increase their bottom line.
CRT acts as both an information resource to help REALTORS® get the most from their technology investments and hands-on testing center of high-tech tools that can benefit members in the field.
Technology developers and vendors need to understand practical business applications the real estate industry requires. The CRT serves as a direct link from the National Association of REALTORS® to the technology community outside the real estate industry.
The Center also conducts regular surveys and research on technology usage in the real estate community. This helps vendors recognize and respond to new industry developments.
CRT can be accessed by visiting www.realtor.org and selecting Technology from the left Topic Guide. |
