President's Message
Victoria Doran, GRI |
|
Greetings!
I am pleased to announce that we have our 12th Annual Golf Tournament coming up on July 21st at Alpine Country Club! Our Golf Chairs, Don Coletti, Karl Martone and Michael Pereira have been working diligently to ensure this year's tournament is a success! If you would like to sign up for a foursome or would like to be a sponsor of the tournament -- it is not too late! We have many opportunities for you to make a difference and add to the community service value of being a REALTOR® member!
During the month of June, we have had the opportunity to offer several professional development programs to our members. The outreach included a seminar on short sales and the prevention of foreclosure. These seminars, provided to both the public and REALTOR® members, were designed by Housing Network of RI to assist in stemming the tide of foreclosure in Rhode Island. I would like to recognize the efforts of Helen Iasimone, Director of Home Ownership, Housing Network, John Nimmo, the Assistant Director of Homeownership of Housing Network and Felicia Diaz, Homeownership Director of NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley for their tremendous effort. For a list of HUD Approved housing Counselors, please click here.
Mark your calendar for two important upcoming dates! We will host our Annual Meeting and Luncheon on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Squantum Association in Riverside and our REALTOR® Recognition Dinner will be held at the Atlantic Beach Club on Thursday, October 30, 2008. We will install our 2009 Officers and Directors at this event - so I hope you can join us!
In the meantime, enjoy a safe and happy Fourth of July!
Sincerely-
Victoria E. Doran
2008 President, GPBOR

Important Tax Notice for REALTORS® Please note this change for your tax files about the deductibility of your National Association of REALTOR® dues, which total $80 for 2008.
