Victoria Doran, GRI |
Greetings!
January was a very busy month for the Greater Providence Board of REALTORS®! We offered several educational opportunities and committees have begun the work of implementing their 2008 goals. I would like to thank everyone who signed up to serve on a committe this year. We tried to honor all requests and we appreciate the dedication and commitment to serve demonstrated by many of our members!
On January 23rd, the leadership of the RI Association of REALTORS®, which included many of our Board members, met to review and update RIAR's Strategic Plan. Jerry Matthews, a strategic planning consultant and former CEO for the Florida and Illinois Associations of REALTORS®, assisted us in facilitating this undertaking. Some very productive discussions resulted in action items that will be included for future goals.
On January 25th, the Greater Providence Board of REALTORS® joined other local Boards and Sovereign Bank to co-sponsor State of the State for 2008. Stephen Andrews, an economist for Sovereign Bank, shared an insightful overview of national market trends. Cherie Roach, Senior Loan Originator, followed up on a local perspective that gave many of the attendees some helpful tools to share with buyers and sellers.
On February 13th, we are pleased to offer three hours of continuing education on the upcoming changes to our Law of Agency. If you have not already signed up, I would encourage you to do so soon! The courses we ran in January were very successful and I received some wonderful feedback from our members regarding hosting classes at locations including the Johnson and Wales Inn, Seekonk, and Save the Bay in Providence. We will certainly continue to bring you quality programming at these different venues.
Mark you calendars for March 20th! We will be celebrating at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet to the theme of 'Parti-Gras' at the Circle of Sales Excellence Awards Gala! You do not have to be an awardee to attend! So if you want to enjoy a terrific event and have a fun time networking with REALTORS® from our Board - please join us! It is always a terrific event!
Sincerely,
Vicki
