| "Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings" Opening | The sudden closure of Civic Theatre West left actors and crew of Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings with a rehearsed show and no place to perform it and an audience eager to see it. Sutter Street Theatre offered the director, Ryan Adame, the option of performing it at Sutter Street Theatre in Historic Folsom, an offer that he happily accepted.
Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings is a new show that offers the best of Forever Plaid tied-up in a nifty package with a big Christmas bow on top! Filled with Christmas standards that have all been "Plaid-erized," the boys are back to do their Christmas Special. At first they aren't sure why they've returned, but a phone call from the

heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world.
A talented cast featuring Byron Roope, Michael Fortunato, Nick Adorno and Troy Martin all under the direction of Ryan Adame with musical direction by Eric Bellah and choreography by Christi Axelson bring to life the hapless quartet with wonderful music, dancing and comedy.
Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings runs Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 26 8:00pm, Nov. 27 8:00pm, Nov. 28 4:00pm and then continuing on Fridays & Saturdays at 9:00pm and Sundays at 7:00pm through Jan. 2 (no performance on Friday, Dec. 3). The tickets range from $15 - $23 and we recommend calling for reservations at 916-353-1001. Group rates are available. Call for information.

The story centers around the Quiltmaker, a delightful woman who lives in the misty mountains making beautiful quilts for the poor. At the same time, a greedy King is desperate to find happiness, assuming it will come from one of the many presents he has demanded from his subjects. When the Quiltmaker refuses to give the king a quilt, she starts him on a journey of self-discovery that takes them both on a whimsical adventure. At times mystical, hilarious, gently provocative and touching, this intimate musical has delighted adults and children alike. It is filled with beautiful music and colorful characters. This is a charming play for the holiday season.
