Fall is in the air and with it some exciting things going on at Sutter Street Theatre. We are holding a GIANT Estate Sale Fundraiser with proceeds going to further the entertainment and teaching aspects of the theatre. We have extended the run of Seussical due to sell out shows. Auditions for the insightful musical "13" will be taking place. And new shows are just around the corner. Check out all the following activities and come join us at one of the few year round theatres in the greater Sacramento area.

GIANT FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT SUTTER STREET THEATRE
|
Mike and Connie Jimena are moving their
residence in a downsizing move and in doing so have 40 years worth of
collecting that they are going to be donating to an Giant Estate Sale to benefit the
Sutter Street Theatre of which they are co-owners. Items
include but are not limited to furniture including beds, dressers etc. ,
sculptures, sound systems, televisions, videos, pop culture memorabilia and
collectibles, studio and theatrical lighting, cabling and adapters, clothing
and costumes, artwork, posters, sports collectibles, household goods, toys, and
much, much more. Come
and see some one of a kind items and support the non-profit Sutter Street
Theatre with your purchases. Date: Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 Time: 7:00am to 4:00pm (NOTE: Sale does not open
until 7:00am) Location: 987 King Henry Way, El Dorado Hills Directions: Take Hwy. 50 to El Dorado Hills Blvd. Continue on El Dorado Hills Blvd. to Crown
Drive and turn left. Go a very short
distance to the corner of Crown Drive and King Henry Way (on the left). A
second sale will be held... Date: Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 Time: 8:00am to 3:00pm (NOTE: Sale does not open
until 8:00am) Location: The Sutter Street Theatre Annex Parking Lot,
710 Figueroa, Historic Folsom Directions: Hwy. 50 to Folsom Blvd. into Folsom. Take the Sutter Street exit and turn right to
Figueroa and then left onto Figueroa. Continue several blocks past Wool Street. The annex will be on your left.

"SEUSSICAL" EXTENDED AN ADDITIONAL WEEKEND
|
Due to the
phenomenal success of Seussical we are extending the show an additional weekend. Suessical will now run through the weekend of October 3 with performances  on Friday at 8:00pm, Saturday at 4:00pm (note this is a change in time from our usual 8:00pm curtain) and Sunday at 4:00pm. Performances have been selling out and we have had to turn away disappointed patrons who did not have reservations, so call now and make your reservation. AUDITIONS FOR "13" COMING IN OCTOBER

Auditions for "13" will be taking place on Sunday, October 17 at 7:00pm with call backs on Tuesday, October 19 at the Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street, Historic Folsom. "13" runs March 26 - April 23, 2011 with performances at 1:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Rehearsals will take place 5-6 weeks prior to opening in the late afternoons or evenings depending on the schedule of those cast. Rehearsals will be Sundays through Thursdays. The audition on the 17th will be just a vocal audition. Please bring a short excerpt from a song with sheet music or a CD. No a cappella please. An accompanist will be provided. Make certain your sheet music has chords and not just the lyric line. The call backs on the 19th will focus on cold readings from the script. Please also bring a resume and head shot or photo if you have them. Actors should look 13 years old, but do not have to be 13. The show is directed by Allen Schmeltz with musical direction and choreography by Connie Mockenhaupt. To see a character breakdown, hear music from the show, and read a synopsis click here. The Golden Harp is a show for all ages including adults. Filled with humorous bits,Ayesha Mazumdar as Persephone & Joshua Huston as Hades, God of the Underworld

WHAT'S COMING FOR THE REST OF OUR 2010 SEASON

Get ready for a great October, November and December at the Sutter Street Theatre.For a murder mystery right around Halloween, come and see Dial M For Murder opening October 8 and running Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 4:00pm The swashbuckling adventure Treasure Island will open on October 23 and run Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm For Neil Simon fans Prisoner of Second Avenue will open on November 5. And don't miss our wonderful holiday shows...Our annual production, Holiday in the Hills returns filled with music, dance and all the fun of the holiday season. Holiday in the Hills opens December 3 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 4:00pm plus extra performances at 7:00pm on December 20, 21, & 22. And don't miss the charming musical The Quiltmaker's Gift. It brings a wonderful story of giving that all ages will enjoy. The Quiltmaker's Gift opens on December 11 with performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm plus extra weekday performances the week before and after Christmas. Make your reservations early.
