GENERAL AUDITIONS SUNDAY & MONDAY SEPT. 12 & 13

The Sutter Street Theatre holds General Auditions once a year.  We do this for two reasons: first is to possibly cast the next few shows that we will be doing within several months of the auditions and the other is to see actors who may have potential for our next season's shows.  This gives us the opportunity to see new talent plus see how those that we may know have grown in their abilities.  We may still be holding specific auditions for shows in our season but this gives you a way to get your foot in the door.  Plus we have cast numerous actors just from our General Auditions.

Following are the guidelines for the auditions.  Please read them carefully.
  1. Auditions appointment times will start at 7:00pm on Sunday & Monday Sept.12 & 13.
  2. You must have an appointment to audition.  Please call (916) 353-1001 to sign up.
  3. Auditions are held at the Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street, Historic Folsom.
  4. Bring a resume if you have one and a head shot or photo.  (We will take a photo if you have none.)
  5. The auditions consist of your choice of either a monologue and a song, two contrasting monologues, or one monologue
  6. If your are doing a song please bring sheet music with chords not just lyric accompaniment (an accompanist will be provided) or a CD.  No a cappella please!
  7. Whatever you decide to do it must fit within a three minute time period.
  8. Artistic Staff of Sutter Street Theatre as well as directors of our next season's shows will be in attendance.
  9. We will be specifically looking for actors for this year' Holiday in the Hills, The Quiltmaker's Gift and next season's The Emperor's New Clothes and The Fantasticks.  All are musicals except The Emperor's New Clothes.
