| 2) AUDITIONING FOR COMMERCIALS, MOVIES & TV FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS AGES 12-17 |
Charlie Holliday very rarely offers young performers classes, however due to the number of requests we've been receiving, we have opened a new auditioning class. Registrations are now being accepted for ages 12-17 for this interesting and entertaining course, to be held July 26 - August 6 -- 1:00pm - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Week One - (July 26 - July 30) -- Auditioning for Commercials
The commercial audition is very different from others. Commercials are the quickest way to get started, and offer the most opportunities for young actors. Students will learn how to slate properly, interpret copy, use cue cards, handle product, work with another actor, and much more.
Week Two - (August 2 - August 6) -- Auditioning for Movies and TV
Again, the Movie/TV audition is different than the commercial audition and very different than the stage audition. Unlike Theatre auditions, which often request monologues, Movie and TV auditions don't generally use prepared memorized material. In this part of the class, the students will learn the proper audition etiquette, how to slate, how to interpret copy, and create a character for the audition and many more useful tools.
Charlie brings his experience in more than 40 movies and TV shows to this is a "nuts and bolts" class for young actors at all levels who want to develop or improve their skills in front of the camera. As class size is limited to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students preregistration is recommended.
Tuition: $200 if paid by July 22, $225 after that.
Charlie Holliday is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and former member of Actors Equity Association, and is a working actor who has appeared in more than forty movies and television programs. His many credits include the motion pictures Kindergarten Cop and Hereafter, directed by Clint Eastwood, the Hallmark Movies of the Week The Christmas Card and Out of the Woods. Television credits include the mini-series Gone But Not Forgotten, Quantum Leap, General Hospital, and many more. In addition to his film and television work, Charlie has appeared in a wide range of stage productions at Sacramento Theatre Company, the Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse, and theaters in Southern California. Charlie also teaches film and TV directing and is owner/director of the Mosaic Acting Academy, where he also conducts classes. In addition he is a partner in Northern California's premier casting company, Media Casting Group.
