It's Official - We are now the Sutter Street Theatre with a New Website
 Sutter Street Theatre
As we start our fourth year bringing you award winning theatre with two different plays running most every weekend throughout the year, we have changed our name to Sutter Street Theatre.  We are very happy about this name change because it helps firm our position within the revitalization that is taking place on Sutter Street in Historic Folsom.  This area is seeing beautiful improvements while keeping the historic value and charm of the town, of which the Sutter Street Theatre is a vital part.  We will still be presenting the same award winning productions so come and visit us soon!

In addition our new website at www.sutterstreettheatre.com is up and running.  WhileSutter Street Theatre Website there are still some "under construction" things being work on, you can visit the site now and see current information on our shows and season plus our workshops and lessons.  We appreciate your comments and suggestions on the new site.  Just direct them to Connie at

Call Backs: January 13, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Location: Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street, Historic Folsom, 95630

What to Bring: If auditioning for a singing role, prepare a song excerpt of one minute or less and bring sheet music or a cd. No a capella please. The rest of the audition will be cold readings from the script. Bring a resume and head shot or photo if you have them.

Rehearsal and Performance Schedule: Rehearsals start Jan. 24 and are typically Sunday through Thursday from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. We will try to work around any rehearsal conflicts except for tech week the week of Feb. 14.

Performances: The show will run from February 20 through April 11 on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm. We may also include Saturday 4:00pm shows. Also, we are attempting to book school groups on Wednesday Feb. 24 and March 10 with morning performances at 9:00am and 11:00am.

Roles:
There may be some combining of roles.

Chester the Jester: Male or female-child to teen, singing role. This character has numerous songs. This is a key role. Lester is part storyteller, part jester, part servant to the Royal Court, part stage hand. The actor should be very limber, move easily, and have good comedic timing. Chester is on-stage the entire show.

King Gaylord: Plays Princess Elaine's Father so should be age appropriate. Male, Non-singing

Queen Jollianna: Plays Princess Elaine's Mother so should be age appropriate. Female, Non-Singing

Tipsy the Gypsy: Male or Female, teen to adult, Non-Singing, very funny role, should be able to move easily on stage.

The Dragon: Non-speaking role, will probably be combined with another role.

The Royal Magician & Frog: Male late teen or adult, Non-Singing

Thornberry the Evil Fairy: Female, older teen to adult, Singing Role (one song) This is a delightful evil role with a wonderful song.
