(Ministry to Seniors)
Another group often overlooked, or limited is the seniors. Dr. Jim Tullos a doctoral graduate of the CollegePlex shared about their needs, and related insights. Dr. Tullos spent time covering issues related to care-givers, and activities that ensure the seniors are encouraged as a viable segment of Christian ministries. Dr. DavidSon's mother, Sister Vera gave her fire-brand insight on the topic, and all other topics. These two senior-saints added energy, and wisdom to the session.

A3CEES STRATEGIC PLANNING, THE DECADE OF 2010
Looking to the future, A3CEES convened a strategic planning session in February. There were several objectives: Gather the A3CEES team-leaders together to consider some of the most pressing issues facing the Christian Community. This included both planned and unplanned agenda topics. Planned activities also included developing video profiles of the leaders, and spending time in fellowship. Finally, the agenda included officially setting-apart persons for ministry. Some gatherings are unforgettable, and this was a milestone Christian experience for the attendees. This edition of the A3CEES Quarterly gives you an insider's view. |

Ministry to Singles: Singles (Letha Goff, Ohio, Ebony Lucas, and Dee Southall, Texas offer valuable insights about singleness, and particularly the needs churches and ministries must consider. Lucas was particularly outspoken, and all of the sisters where adamant that church leaders need to consistently consider the stigma related to singleness. Many ministries emphasize family and leave singles with a sense of second class citizenry in the kingdom. Southall who led a singles ministry shared her experience with maintaining a biblical focus, and debunked the stereotypical view that singles ministries or designed for match making. Letha Goff explained the dilemma of enjoying singleness, but desiring companionship. The experience was an eye-opener for the attendees. Presentation by Ebony Lucas, Click Here (PowerPoint required). |

Ministry to the Incarcerated: Attendees Dr. Tony M. Thurston and Dr. Paul Carlin, Church Behind Prison Walls shared insights about two of the nation's largest prison systems in California and Texas respectively. Among several items, Dr. Thurston explained some of the frustrations and accomplishments of ministering to those behind prison walls. Dr. Carlin did a masterful job of explaining the darkness of the prison system. Among his many insights he stated that convicts must be "D-Conned."

Leadership Issues, The Business of Paradigms: The A3CEES team viewed the masterful video, Business of Paradigms. Dr. DavidSon shared that every organization needs to see the video that deals with issues, which prevent organizations from accepting change that could move organizations progressively forward.
Chairperson, Roger Weaver followed the presentation with an extraordinary flash video, which illustrated how technology has changed the world in a dramatic way, particularly communications and delivery of services. |

A3CEES Affirmed, College Affirmation Program: Senior Quality Auditor, and Associate Director, Bob Hennings (Omaha) outlined the college program's importance and customer-base including students, college administrators, and more recently a national accrediting body for distance learning asked for A3CEES' assistance. Hennings provides assessment of institutions, and plays an important role in supporting viable Christian institutions, while helping students identify questionable institutions. The viable institutions play a major role in equipping God's people without leaving them in enormous debt. During the discussion, Dr. DavidSon shared that numerous Christian colleges do not desire the interference and philosophical "compromisers" required by accrediting bodies. And that most institutions would not go through the process if it were not for the federal financial aid programs they need to support their infrastructure. Dr. Carlin informed the group that the Tyndale Seminary in Fort-Worth won a major appeal, and Texas again is permitting post-secondary religious institutions to offer degree programs without regional accrediting as long as they do not use terms such as college. However, they can use the seminary identity. This is one of those areas where the general Christian population needs information to make wise financial and programming decisions. |

Board-Review and Credentials: Since the team usually meets in virtual conference sessions to conduct board-reviews, they went late into Friday evening conducting a review of two credential candidates. The meeting concluded with credentials for these two candidates. Counselor Linda Gulley plays an important role for her pastor and church in Dallas, Texas.
Texas A&M doctoral graduate, Dr. Suzanne Carroll operates a life coach ministry in Austin. The new A3CEES' policy recognizes persons who are so committed to the Christ-based healing ministry that they are also presented the accountability and benefits of clergy. Christ-based Counseling is founded on counseling that relies on sound Biblical instruction, equipping believers, and sharing the gospel with unbelievers. Thereby, A3CEES gives the rationale for all Christ-based Counselors to be identified with clergy. As Dr. DavidSon states it, "in these last days, we need to eradicate barriers that prevent people from fully serving. We should be liberating men and women to serve in the greatest capacity possible." |

Ordination Examination: An Elder's Board was convened to examine four ordination candidates. Reflecting the richness of days past, the board asked a series of questions requiring personal responses on areas such as Biblical theology, personal accountability, conduct, ministry planning, and vision. All of the candidates work in one or more
A3CEES ministries as well as their own ministries (left to right: Dr. Linda McMurray, Kent and Debra Green, Letha Goff). Candidates were reminded of their covering, and accountability to execute their ministries fully mindful that they represent themselves, their organizations, but above all, they represent God. |

The First I AM Graduates: Fall 2009 A3CEES launched I AM the Institute of Advanced Management for ministry, church, and organizational leaders. The programming features several courses in the management disciplines and includes all of the management tools. The literature and course work is based on concepts published by the American Society of Quality (ASQ). As a result the program has the additional value of a Certified Managers Credential. Two persons are first to complete the program. Dr. Tony Thurston who operates in a ministry to the incarcerated shown above, and Dr. William Worl who recently planted the Christ based Ministries including a church-plant and ministry to the hurting. Thurston who works for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), San Francisco-Oakland as his "tent building ministry" recommends the program. Thurston's view is that the program represents all of the terms, and concepts (e.g., lean, PDCA, mapping, kaizen, etc.) instrumental in improving promotional opportunities. Congratulations to both of these leaders. Click here for the Institute of Advanced Management, a Department of the Collegeplex.

Lifetime Achievement: Dr. DavidSon presented an A3CEES Lifetime Achievement Recognition to both Dr. Paul Carlin and His wife Jeri together. Referring to them as a modern day Aquilla and Prcillla, the citation identifies the couples' marvelous accomplishments including Therapon Institute, Belief Therapy, and Church Behind Prison Walls to name a few. As Dr. DavidSon began the weekend meeting, he gave a stirring opening. He shared how God used Dr. Carlin to resurrect and affirm his vision for A3CEES. By the end of the meeting, all of the A3CEES Directors would witness why Dr. DavidSon loves the Carlins so deeply. They are a marvelous couple who love Jesus. Say no more.
We covered several topics such as anger, weight management, and the Church. We all departed enriched and determined to seek ways to continue improving what we do. We never arrive until He arrives. It's impossible to capture here all we accomplished, but we are hopeful, you have enjoyed the Insider's View. May the Lord richly bless you. |

LETTING OUR LIGHT SHINE (Matthew 5:16) Church Starts:
Worship March 7, 2010
 | The New Beginnings Experience, Lewisville, Texas: What a story! Relevant preaching, a place of healing, high energy, no nonsense service, leading-edge equipping of believers, and the Church has just celebrated its fourth month. Yes, only four months old The Lord moved on the heart of Joseph Fields, lovingly "Pastor Joe" to begin this work. He did the enormous leg-work to contact mission-minded ministries, keep all interested parties informed, and operate with integrity. He's the first to tell you that it is not easy, and they have not arrived. These efforts are not without major hurdles, and no person can do it alone. A small group of diligent workers helped to get the work started, and the ship is well on its way! Pastor Joe's warm disposition, engaging messages, opened leadership style, and sincere appeals are readily perceived by members and visitors. Few in leadership express it as Pastor Joe, "can you imagine if God gets his glory out of each of us in this room. That's all I want. I want for God to get His glory out of each of you." There can be no doubt, God is getting His glory from New Beginnings. Use this link to see the Equipping-Believers' Development Track developed by Dr. Davidson for New Beginnings. The church is Souled-Out! Christ Based Ministries, of the Peru Indiana Area: Dr. William Worl completed the administrative requirements to launch his ministry that will include both a church-ministry and counseling program. Worl is a credentialed counselor and has completed all three trimesters of the Faith-life Program. As mentioned above he also completed IAM as a ministry-manager. He has a heart for the wounded, and is taking a major step to assault the kingdom of darkness. No Limits Christian Ministries, Mountain Home, Idaho: Christ-based Counselor, Clark Williams has launched efforts to plant a church, and has already begun Bible study in the Mountain Home, Idaho area. Clark who has served as a deacon leader with his wife since the late 1990s received the support of his home church to launch a church ministry. He's sought the support by A3CEES, Christ-based Consultants. |
