Every year ministries, ministers, and churches fall prey to devastating circumstances where someone has fallen to the unthinkable.  There's some public moral failure that even unbelievers see as hypocritical and a cause to look elsewhere for hope. 
 
Largely, it is our fault. Our expectations are so low and undocumented. Other than lip-service, we are vague about what we believe.  Crying mercy, we do nothing to hold ourselves or those around us accountable.
 
The calculating and dark-mind considers:  "If caught, they'll have to forgive me, and restore me," or "they can't touch me I made this ministry what it is." As a result when calamity comes, and it will, no one suffers like the Church and cause of Jesus Christ. 
 
Given a Code of Ethics and Ministry Covenant, the calculating and dark-mind must consider: "If I do it, by definition, I've resigned from my position for the cause of Jesus Christ." 
 
At a minimum every ministry and minister needs a Code-of-Ethics and Ministry Covenant where there is no doubt about a ministry's and minister's standard of conduct. Additionally, ministries need a well-designed investigative process.  Hopefully, your ministry will never have to use it.  However, in your ministry's life, it is doubtful that you'll never need these instruments.  And when a leader in ministry fears these instruments, it's a sure sign of trouble.

What commercial enterprise calls, Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, we call, "Child of the King Day."
 
It's amazing how the first day of shopping for Christmas has become, Black Friday!  Indeed, if the purpose for all the fanfare is profit lines, greed, and excess, it is a dark-day.
 
However, it is so appropriate that Jesus said, you (we are the light) of the world. 
 
So, remember the day after Thanksgiving is a focal day that we give additional effort to share our testimony of Who, and What Jesus has done and is doing in our lives.  
 
Turn Black Friday into a day of light.  Begin with prayer, then look for the open door of sharing your testimony.  Someone will share a personal problem, or they'll ask you about your faith, or how you make it.
 
Perhaps you've never shared with a co-worker, or school mate.  Tell them you need a few minutes to share with them some personal news!  Let them know, you are, "A Child of the King."
