    New Advanced Milk-to-Maturity

If you completed all three trimesters of the Milk-to-Maturity, Faith-life program, you have completed the prerequisites for the advanced course.  The advanced course explores the beginnings of the earth, and provides answers for some of the questions of the ages.  Those with many years of church and Christian experience have found the course to be thought provoking, and providing a framework for a complete understanding of all that God has done, and is doing through humanity. The course is currently available on the M2Maturity web site.

  Milk-to-Maturity Video Instruction

Also, several of the courses are now available through video instruction.  This is a valuable addition to the current course delivery.  Now, participants have the advantage of the directed research, and video instruction to further embellish your electronic and virtual education experience.  Special thanks to Tim DavidSon who did all of the technical work.

Two New Advanced Mastery Licensed, Christ-based Counselors Represent This Quarter's Credentialed Counselors

     Rev WohlSandraRockholts

This quarter we feature two new Christ-based Counselors.  Dr. William Wohl of  Peru, Indiana, and Sandra Rockholts of Sweetwater, Tennessee. Rev Wohl sponsors and offers counseling for substance abuse for more than sixteen years.  Rev. Wohl understands what many people miss who desire to be family counselors.  If there is a vice such as substance abuse, the addiction must be confronted and overcome.  Therefore, he sought counseling development beyond his focus on substance abuse to become a full-support Christ-based Counselor.  Sandra Rockholts has is a marvelous story of overcoming abuse as a child.  She met her husband as a youth at North Sweetwater Baptist Church in the late 1960s, and today they have been married forty years.  Now, her husband pastors North Sweetwater Baptist, and she does it all; she's a puppet director, special projects, pianist just to name a few responsibilities, and yes, Christ-based Counselor.  We congratulate both counselors, and pray for their continued success in Christian ministry.

Additionally, she completed application for membership with the Association of Christian Schools International. ACSI is the largest Christian primary and secondary organization in the nation.  This membership also makes it possible for Christian primary and secondary teachers to earn CEUs through the CollegePlex. We are focussed on the Fall of next year to begin instruction.  That's right around the corner.  Our personal thanks to Karen for her leadership and tireless efforts.

Hurricane Ike Meets A3CEES' Dennise Bates and Houston Office

A3CEES LogoWe thank God for covering our team mate, Dr. Dennise Bates who lived through Hurricane Ike.  Her husband made the decision to stay in Houston through the hurricane, and like Sarah she stood with her husband.  They boarded up there home, and were without power for more than a week, but every time she reported she said the power was off, but 'God's presence provided plenty of light.'  No matter how dark it is, we are the light upon a hill.  Surely, the Bates family and countless others experienced the marvelous presence of God.  We made light (no pun intended) of the circumstances with plenty of fun.  Mentioning Abraham and Sarah and shrouded by darkness we kidded the Bates to be careful that no little Isaacs would be coming forth in nine months.  They were to be fruitful, but no multiplying.  Nevertheless, we apologize for any program interuptions during the period.  There lights were turned-on, Tuesday, September 22, but it is marvelous to know that God's power is never turned-off.

   A3CEES Office Design Complete

We continue to move faithfully toward the new office facility.  We thank engineer, Aundry Potter for his assistance with plans for the new A3CEES office.  The suite features offices, a support area, kitchen, reception and kids area, and conference rooms.

      Sin Short-Circuits the Brain
Some sins have immediate and lasting impact on mental functioning as severe as a chemical addiction.

  Dr.DavidSon CMO
I have a saying that the most remarkable statements are not some high-philosophical  or multiple syllable statement or words.  However, it is taking a spiritual truth and stating it in a way that is simple and profoundly relational.  The title of this article is that kind of statement.

I cannot lay claim to the statement.   Jack Graham of PowerPoint fame made the statement in the midst of a message about the prodigal son.  Perhaps the statement resonated with me because I've witness it so often.   In fact, we have all witnessed the reality of the statement.  If you have heard anyone say, "he's out of his mind;" or "how could she do that?" or "I cannot believe he would do something like that."  Typically, these statements reflect circumstances where you expected that a person had better sense.  There's a good chance that sin is involved somewhere.

Luke Chapter 15 has this type of story.  A story of a man with two sons, and one of the sons desires his inheritance from his father.  The son is saying in essence  'Dad, you are dead to me, but I need your money.' The father gives the son his desires, and the son completely squanders his inheritance on lust filled living.   The son had everything he needed, but sin short-circuited his brain.

Now, some readers may not understand the term, short-circuit.   Simply, a circuit is a wire with power running through it.  If the wire is cut, or something impedes the power, the term is "short-circuit."  We had a vehicle with power-windows.  Sometimes the windows worked fine.  Other times, the windows would not work.  There was a short-circuit somewhere.
There are three descriptive terms for sin that I learned in theological seminary.  First, sin is simply missing the mark.  Like Jonah who did not commit any moral offense.  He simply did not obey the assignment God gave him.  Secondly, there's the term trespass.    This typically represents a sin of ignorance as when David attempted to return the ark to Jerusalem.  He did not know the appropriate procedure.  Then, there is the term, transgression.   This is the defiant, arrogant, in God's face sin.  This is the type of sin that Graham referenced when he made the statement, "sin short-circuits the brain."

Imagine making decisions for yourself, family, ministry, or nation with a short-circuited brain.
No doubt, there are certain sins that have a direct impact on brain chemistry.  Chemical addictions have an obvious effect.    All sins have a detrimental effect on us, but some sins have immediate and lasting impact on mental functioning as severe as a chemical addiction.  Adultery is one such sin.

Recently, a counselee heard a statement from Bishop Eddie Long that adultery cast a curse on one's family.  I don't know Long's Biblical basis, but any sin requiring the death penalty in the Law had substantial effect on the perpetrator and community.   Proverbs 6:32 states, "But a man who commits adultery has no sense (NASB)." The Message Bible graphically captures the condition, "Adultery is a brainless act, soul-destroying, self-destructive."  The condition is not only speaking of the decision to commit adultery, but the adulterous practice, which continues to impact brain-spirit functioning, and operates like anesthesia on the spirit.  Yes, on the outside to the casual observer things may appear o.k.   But on the inside the believer's joy and clear-thinking is stripped.  This is what caused David to cry out, 'Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And sustain me with a willing spirit (Psalms 51:12).'

Another young-woman shared that she was told by a "Christian" man who was married that every man has a woman on-the-side.  This was a part of his appeal to accept his relationship with his wife as a fact of life. He desired an adulterous relationship with her.  Any man walking-the-walk in the Spirit should immediately, and without question repudiate this type of lie.

Sin is the most unpopular topic of all in our churches today.  Yet, this is the most basic health-issue that faces humanity.  It is the principal reason Jesus came.  I do not know anyone who does not desire sound mental health.  Since this is the case,  do not allow sin to reign in your mortal body.  It short-circuits your brain.

Web Site

If you have ever heard the terms, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001:2000, thanks to A3CEES these could be coming to a church near you.  This offers the best in operations management to the church and ministry environment. The group, DavidSon and Associates represents more than 70 years of Quality Management experience.  Dr. DavidSon and his teammate Brad Hebert are first generation TQMers who learned under the tutelege of Dr. Edward Deming's first program. Bob Hennings is also a member of the team with several years as a Quality Management
professional.   Dr. Deming and his colleague Joseph Juran were credited with  turning-around the Japenese economy after World-War II.  Few people realize that Dr. Deming was a devout believer who wrote several hymns. DavidSon holds dearly to many of Demings quotes such as "It's not enough to do your best, you have to know what to do, then do your best." The Quality Management discipine is behind the whole A3CEES
concept of delivery.  Their first group product is the Membership Initiative, responding

Forgiven Offenders Ministry

Hearings Begin on Case of Thirteen Year Old Charged with Sexual Assualt

vnessafamilyYoung Chaymar Davidson's (not related to Dr. DavidSon) hearings have began.  They identified Attorney Crystal Carodine to represent them.  As you recall, Chaymar's case involved an incident occurring at a Christian camp this Summer between he and a girl two years older.  Allegedly, a matter of consensual-sex  turned into charges of sexual assault against the 13 year old. Obviously, the behavior is not condoned, but it is reasonable that this kind of encounter will happen where supervision is not seriously administered.  The first hearing was rescheduled to September 29, 2008 when the District Attorney reported ill.  This is one of those cases that could have far-reaching implications for all parties including the Summer camp, and sponsoring Church ministry.  Let's keep the family in our prayers.  Thanks so much to those of you who have given to this effort.   The family seeks thirty dollars from each contributor.  However, they'll accept any amount.  You may use the offering button at Christbasedcounseling.org, or mail a check to:
