Olympic Games
In our last edition, we
shared with you how happy we are to have the Olympics hosted at Açaí's world
capital, Rio de Janeiro (our hometown).
Today, Açai Roots will share with you another curiosity about the
"Wonderful City". In fact, do you know why Rio de Janeiro is known as
the "Wonderful City"? The city first received this nickname in 1908
by a Brazilian writer who wrote an article using this "slogan" to
describe the town.
The city earned this nickname due to its unique and gorgeous
geography, its great year-around climate, lifestyle, quality of life, beautiful
beaches & natives, and because of the warming way locals receive
tourists.

Chef Roots:
Holiday Season - Açaí Pudding/Flan
Açaí Frozen Pulp
Re-invent your holiday with an açaí dessert for Christmas.
Ingredients:
- 300 grams (10.58 oz) of Açaí Pulp
- 1 Can of sweet condensed milk
- 4 Eggs
- A pintch of Salt
- 1 Tea cup of water
- 1/2 Tea cup of Sugar
How to Make it:
Blend (using a blender) the açaí pulp, condensate milk, eggs, and salt combined.
Using another pan/pot, create a caramel syrup (until amber and liquid) using the water and sugar.
In a Flan Pan/Mold, place the caramel; than top it with the Açaí blend and cook it at about 350 degrees F. in Bain-Marie for about 1h 30min (or until it is consolidated). Let the flan cool before removing the mold/pan.
We suggest to serve it cool. But you may choose according to your taste. |
