Fireworks Safety Reminder
A Reminder: No fireworks allowed on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests Supervisor George Bain is reminding visitors and campers that the use of all fireworks is prohibited on all national forests and national grasslands.  Fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices are prohibited on national grassland and national forest lands year-round, regardless of weather conditions or holidays.  Regulations are enforced, and violation is punishable as a misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment of not more than six months, or both.  Forest visitors are also reminded to ensure that all fires are extinguished and cold to the touch before leaving them.

The mission of the U.S. Forest Service is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation's forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations. The agency manages 193 million acres of public land, provides assistance to state and private landowners, and maintains the largest forestry research organization in the world.

GA Chamber of Commerce Support of TSPLOST for Connect Georgia
On July 31, Georgians across the state will have the opportunity to truly control their region's economic future.  With passage of the regional transportation referendum, local communities will be able to raise funds and begin work on specific transportation projects in their area - projects selected and managed by local officials with every penny collected staying within the region.
*The Georgia Chamber - traditionally opposed to any tax increases - believes the transportation referendum is the most effective way to ensure long-term job creation and economic investment in every part of the state.
