The 2012 Welcome Home directory is in the process of being printed again. The Chamber in partnership with the Reporter is preparing to print the annual directory publication.  The Reporter needs ads by June 8th and is offering a 15% discount to Chamber members who purchase the additional ads.

Chamber members are reminded that this publication serves as our member directory and, as members,you will be listed twice in the directory (once by category and once alphabetically). This publication is distributed to all subscribers of The Reporter, every chamber member, displayed at various restaurants and businesses throughout the county, and given to any visitors to the welcome center. All members in good standing will be included.

Creative Hiring Solutions for Business Owners
The topic for the June "Eggs and Issues" will cover Creative Hiring Solutions for your business. Join the Chamber Wednesday, June 6 at the new Sam's Place restaurant inside the Ramada for a private breakfast buffet in the Monroe Room. General admission for this event is $15 or $10 for chamber members. The scheduled time is 7:30 to 9 a.m. and includes breakfast as well as a speaker from a local entity discussing important issues pertaining to Monroe County. Click here to register online.
 
Last Week to Bid on No Noodles For Poodles
The 9th Annual Noodles For Poodles benefit for Save A Pet, Inc., sponsored by Grits Cafe was cancelled this year due to the tragic fire on March 19, 2012 at Grits Café. This year Save A Pet, Inc. will sponsor a NO "Noodles for Poodles" virtual event during the month of May. Save A Pet, Inc. advocates can make donations to "purchase" a virtual item and continue to support the no-kill rescue's mission. 100% of your donation is tax deductible and directly benefits the dogs. Summer on the Square features The Shane Bridges Band
Don't miss the next Better Hometown and DDA downtown street concert in the Summer on the Square series in Forsyth, GA. The June event features the Shane Bridges Band on Saturday, June 9, at 8 pm. Shane Bridges is a Singer/Songwriter from Macon Georgia. His music blends the good side of country with the rootsy side of rock to create solid songs crafted with strong lyrics. He has landed his songs on both tv & film shows. He tours the southeast with his band of veteran musicians.
