Monroe County Arts Alliance presents "JUST SHOOTING", the Digital Photography of Don Daniel.
Longtime resident of Monroe County, Don Daniel was the founder, original editor and publisher of the Reporter and maintains a weekly column in the newspaper. He travels extensively in his present work with FEMA on disaster scene assessment. His photographs will be on display in the gallery until April 27.

Hubbard Alumni Annual Parade, Concessions & Entertainment

The 2012 grand marshal is Alex C. Habersham, publisher of the Macon Middle Georgia Black Pages. Line up at the Monroe County Board of Education Parking Lot. Concessions and entertainment will be held at the William Hubbard Middle School Campus on April 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This 2012 Banquet at 6 pm will feature the Willie James (Sandy) Henderson singing group. Sandy Henderson graduated in the Hubbard Class of 1958 and will captivate his audience with his singing talents. This year's Banquet is hosted by the Hubbard Class of 1959. Chicken Que at Christ United Methodist Church

You know it must be spring when the Christ United Methodist men start to fire up the BBQ pit! Join CUMC on Saturday, April 21 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM for some lip smacking pit-grilled chicken. Purchase your tickets now for your meal so you don't miss out on some good eating! Price of a ticket is $7.50 and is available from most church members. Meals can also be purchased upon arrival. Benefit concert featuring The Scrub Team
| That's right! The Scrub Team is back for this Relay For Life benefit concert presented by Monroe County Hospital's Relay For Life team introducing two new local additions we all know and love. In addition you will hear Doc and Not-Doc and It's A Trap. Join them on Saturday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in the auditorium.

3rd Annual Autism Awareness Festival
| Anchor of Hope Foundation and Central Georgia Autism invites you to share the journey with them on Saturday, April 28. Rising Stars Awards Banquet for Middle School Students

As is tradition, the Chamber will host a luncheon recognizing Monroe County Middle School students who have maintained all A's on their report cards throughout the school year. Each student receives a certificate of achievement and a savings bond gift certificate sponsored by a Chamber member business, professional, or organization.
We ask Chamber Members to consider partnering with the Chamber in sponsoring one of these very deserving students in recognition of their accomplishment. No Noodles For Poodles Virtual Event to build No-kill Shelter
| The 9th Annual Noodles For Poodles benefit for Save A Pet, Inc., sponsored by Grits Cafe and set for April 19th, has been cancelled this year due to the tragic fire on March 19, 2012 at Grits Café. This year Save A Pet will sponsor a NO "Noodles for Poodles" virtual event during May 2012. Save A Pet advocates can make donations to "purchase" a virtual item and continue to support the no-kill rescue's mission. 100% of your donation is tax deductible and directly benefits the dogs. Internationally Acclaimed Life Coach and Author Contributes to "Art a la Carte"

Best-selling author and life coach Cheryl Richardson has contributed a potpourri of her life-changing products to the "Art a la Carte" silent auction. Included are her famous Life Makeovers book; Stand Up for Your Life DVD; and The Art of Extreme Care CD. All are displayed in a rose-covered basket. The local arts benefit will be held May 5th from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm at Gallery 51 in Forsyth. There will be a variety of art "happenings" including live music, dancing, food and drink, interactive art, artists and one-stroke-painting demos. The event will culminate in a "Georgia Icons" live auction with 12 paintings from talented artist members. All will be invited to participate in the extensive silent auction. High Falls State Park Campground Hosts needed
| The campground host program is one of the state parks most popular volunteer opportunities. In exchange for a free campsite and utilities, campground hosts volunteer to meet and greet arriving campers, offer check-in assistance, perform minor maintenance tasks and meet visitors from all over the world.
Hosts volunteer for a minimum of two months up to a maximum of six months. Hosts contribute a minimum of 24 hours per week per couple. Their is an annual membership of $15 to be listed as a volunteer with Georgia Parks, this membership covers cost of processing your application, the excess liability insurance and the criminal background check. Please visit the DNR website for more information on volunteer hosting positions or locations.
