Eggs and Issues with Monroe County Education
This month's event is sponsored by Oglethorpe Power and is focused on Education. Join other chamber members on April 4 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., at the Board of Education for our monthly networking breakfast. Get an update on education in Monroe County and how it can affect you and your business. The address of the Board of Education is 25 Brooklyn Ave.  Attendees are requested to park in the large, open parking lot on the left side of the complex and enter through the main BOE entrance.  Holy Week Services throughout the county

The Monroe County Ministerial Association presents the attached Holy Week Schedule. For the past several years our ministerial association has sponsored Holy Week Services. These have provided rich worship experiences from various church traditions. A schedule of this year's services is provided below. The 2012 president is Rev. Easter Service at FUMC

Forsyth United Methodist Church will host the community sunrise service on Sunday April 8 at 7 am in their new  "Wesley Family Life Center." The service will be followed by a pancake breakfast in the fellowship hall.

 

 2012 Spring Rabies Clinic
Georgia health law requires that all dogs and cats, three months of age and older, must be vaccinated to protect them and their owners.

These clinics are being held Saturday April 14, 2012 from 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., throughout the county in cooperation with Animal Medical Clinic in Forsyth and the Monroe County Extension Service. 4-H members will assist Dr. Brandon Pinson with these clinics. The fee at the clinic is $9.00 per animal for a one year vaccination and $17 for a three year with proof of previous year's vaccine.  If you have any questions, call Dr. Brandon Pinson at Animal Medical Clinic of Forsyth @ 994-4986 or the Monroe County Extension Office @ 994-7014. 2012 Noodles for Poodles Canceled
The 2012 Noodles for Poodles benefit for Save A Pet, Inc. scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at Grits Cafe is canceled. Please watch for updates in the future on a re-scheduled event.

  3rd Annual Autism Awareness Festival
Anchor of Hope Foundation and Central Georgia Autism invites you to share the journey with them on Saturday, April 28. They will sponsor a 5K Trail Run and Family Fun Run with registration beginning at 7:00 am at Daysping Presbyterian Church. Parking will be at Banks Stephens Middle School parking lot. Race registration is available online at active.com

A Community Resource Fair and Family Fun Festival will begin at 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, with children's inflatables, music, games, crafts, and resource vendors. Download the flyer.

"Art a la Carte" presented by MCAA
The Monroe County Arts Alliance is presenting this gala evening fund raiser event May 5th from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm at Gallery 51 in Forsyth. There will be a variety of art "happenings" including live music, dancing, food and drink, interactive art, and one-stroke-painting demos. The event will culminate in a "Georgia Icons" live auction with 12 paintings from talented artist members. All will be invited to participate in the extensive silent auction. Among the items available will be Tributes to the Literary Arts. Many authors and publishers are lending their support with book donations, including a "Basket of Books" by popular southern author, Mary Kay Andrews. Tickets and information can be obtained from the Monroe County Arts Alliance, Welcome Center, ERA Connie R.
