On March 24 preview original artwork on display by local artists and Spring & Summer fashions beginning at 11:30 a.m. with luncheon served at 12:30 p.m. Featuring artwork from Monroe County Arts Alliance and clothing from Noell's of Thomaston. Eggs and Issues with Monroe County Education
This month's event is sponsored by Oglethorpe Power and is focused on Education. On April 4 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., join other chamber members for our monthly networking breakfast to get an update on education in Monroe County and how it can affect you and your business. Raffle of Play Scape built by Mary Persons Construction Class
Monroe Reads Community Action Team still has tickets for the play scape raffle. The drawing will be held March 30th at 5 pm. Tickets are $10 and available at The Farmers Bank, Shoppes on the Square, parents coordinators at K. B. Sutton and Hubbard Elementary or Monroe Reads members. This structure was designed and built by students in Mr. D. J. Hurm's Construction classes at Mary Persons High School. All proceeds benefit the Monroe Reads with Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy and provides books for all registered children from birth to age 5, free of charge. These quality books help to improve early literacy for children in our community. 2012 Noodles for Poodles coming in April!
The 2012 Noodles for Poodles benefit for Sav A Pet is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 5:30 to 9pm, at Grits Cafe and the courthouse square in Forsyth. We've got about a month to polish up the pooches before hitting the square. Don't miss the return of the Pasta dinner silent auction, Barky Bakery, Live Music and more! All proceeds will assist Sav A Pet in building a No Kill Animal Shelter for Monroe County.
