The Forsythia Fashion Show selling out
The 3rd Annual Forsythia Festival Fashion Show will be Thursday, March 8, at 6:30 pm at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Join your friends for exciting Entertainment, delicious Food and Fun Forsythia Fashions. Tickets are $20 and are available online or you can purchase from a member of the Forsythia Festival Committee, or pick up tickets at the Chamber office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Wednesday or until they are all sold. The fashion show is sponsored by Georgia Athletics and Trophy Ford, with decorations and Prom Tuxedo Fashions provided by Flowers by Helen and Hair and Makeup by West Mane Salon.
 
Forsythia 5K & Fun Run Registration
Spread the word that pre-registration for the Forsythia 5K and 1 mile Fun Run has ended. You can register from 7am to 7:45am the morning of the race at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center on Saturday, March 10, the race begins at 8 a.m. .

 

Forsyth's Black History Exhibit
The Black History of Forsyth Exhibit will remain open through the Forsythia Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. This exhibit is a tribute to local African-American citizens who have contributed to the community. Rosemary Walker is available for tours after 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Conley Building next to the Train Depot in Forsyth.

 

Win $500 or $250 Cash at FaithFest
Registration closes Wednesday for FaithFest and is available online. Sponsored by Tolbert & Associates, FaithFest is an amateur singing competition celebrating music, faith, and our community. The competition is part of the annual Forsythia Festival held during the second weekend of March. This competition celebrates faith-based music through all styles with cash prizes for Adult and Youth categories. Only 15 performers are accepted and the slots for youth and adults are nearly full so if you are thinking about entering don't wait.

Special appearances by Logan Smith(sponsored by Watts Service Center) and Voices of Hope Women's Choir. Free admission with a Good Will Donation accepted during the event.

 

Public Safety Complex Commemoration Ceremony
You are invited to a Commemoration Ceremony for the Paul H. Josey, Jr. Public Safety Complex honoring those in service at the time of construction. The ceremony will take place at the Paul H. Josey, Jr. Public Safety Complex on Friday, March 9, 2012. Beginning at 2pm, the ceremony will include the unveiling of the newly installed commemorative name plaque.

 

Forsythia Festival Golf Tournament
The Exchange Club of Forsyth hosts the Forsythia Festival Golf Tournament at Forsyth Golf Course on Friday, March 9. Full package per player is $60, which includes entry fee, lunch and two mulligans.
The Placeholders in Concert on the Square
Don't miss all of the Forsythia Festival events this week leading up to the Festival this weekend. Visit www.ForsythiaFestival.com to learn about all of the events going on around the City of Forsyth during the Festival.

Friday night Better Hometown and the Downtown Development Authority will kick off their concert series by hosting The Placeholders on the square. Forsythia food vendors will be getting an early start by selling their specialties to the crowd on the square.

MRCAT Raffle of Play Scape built by Mary Persons Construction Class
Find out about two ways you can help the Monroe Reads Community Action Team with their mission and buy a raffle ticket for a play scape constructed by the Mary Persons Construction Class. The play scape will be completed at their Forsythia Festival booth. Click here to read the flyer with all of the details.
Monroe Reads is an affiliate of the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy and provides books for all registered children from birth to age 5, free of charge. These quality books help to improve early literacy for children in our community.
