The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Chamber asks that you make an informed decision regarding the upcoming SPLOST vote on March 6. Come by the Chamber office to pick up your free yard signs to encourage others to vote.

The Forsythia Fashion Show tickets are now available online
|
The 3rd Annual Forsythia Festival Fashion Show will be Thursday, March 8, at 6:30 pm at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Join your friends for exciting Entertainment, delicious Food and Fun Forsythia Fashions. Tickets are $20 and are available online or you can purchase from a member of the Forsythia Festival Committee, or pick up tickets at the Chamber office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The fashion show is sponsored by Georgia Athletics and Trophy Ford, with decorations provided by Flowers by Helen and Hair and Makeup by West Mane Salon.

Forsythia 5K & Fun Run Registration available online
|
Spread the word that registration forms for the Forsythia 5K and 1 mile Fun Run at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center on Saturday, March 10, at 8 a.m. are available at the chamber office or online at http://www.forsythiafestival.com/5K.html and is now payable by credit card. Macon Tracks members receive a $1 discount on either registration.

Forsyth's Black History Exhibit

In honor of February being Black History month the Black History Exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Conley Building next to the Train Depot in Forsyth. This exhibit is a tribute to local African-American citizens who have contributed to the community. Rosemary Walker is available for tours after 1 p.m. The exhibit will be open through the Forsythia Festival.

The competition is part of the annual Forsythia Festival held during the second weekend of March. This competition celebrates faith-based music through all styles with cash prizes for Adult and Youth categories. | The Backlot Players, Inc. Presents the 2012 Forsythia Festival Musical Show. Written and Originally Directed by Ted Swindley - based on a true story. A musical play about county singer, Patsy Cline, and a friend. Starring Kelli Gilstrap as Patsy and Sandy Watson as Louise. Forsythia Pageant this Saturday
|
Don't miss your opportunity to support the up and coming youth of Forsyth and Monroe County by attending the Forsythia Pageant. The pageant was started in order to give young Forsythians a place to showcase their hometown spirit. The Forsythia Pageant is a place where young girls and boys can participate in the celebration of their hometown and be more involved. The pageant will be at the GA Public Safety Training Center Auditorium, March 3 with judging 0 - 6 Pageant judging at 10 a.m. and 7 - 21 Pageant judging at 2 p.m. Visit the website for more details.

The Exchange Club of Forsyth hosts the Forsythia Festival Golf Tournament at Forsyth Golf Course on Friday, March 9. Full package per player is $60, which includes entry fee, lunch and two mulligans.

Mary Persons FFA Alumni Raffles Half A Cow!
| |
Mary Person's FFA Alumni is selling raffle tickets to win a half a cow. It is a show cow that was raised by an FFA member. Price is $20 per ticket or 6 tickets for $100. Drawing will be held at the Forsythia Festival on March 11. Winner will have the opportunity to direct the butcher on the types of cuts they wish to have. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new truck and livestock trailer for use by the FFA livestock show team to take the animals to various shows. Tickets can be purchased by going to David White at Forsyth Feed Store, Patrice Kerner at GPSTC, any FFA Alumni member or at the Festival at the FFA livestock corner.

Pre-K Registration for Monroe County Schools
|
Pre-K registration for Monroe County Schools will be held March 8, 2012 for Hubbard Elementary, T.G. Scott Elementary, and K.B. Sutton Elementary, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parents should register at the Board of Education's Auditorium at 25 Brooklyn Avenue in Forsyth. School districts will be determined at the time of registration. Parents must bring proof of their child's age and residency to complete registration. You are invited to a Commemoration Ceremony for the Paul H. Josey, Jr. Public Safety Complex honoring those in service at the time of construction. The ceremony will take place at the Paul H. Josey, Jr. Public Safety Complex on Friday, March 9, 2012. Beginning at 2pm, the ceremony will include the unveiling of the newly installed commemorative name plaque.

Visitors may view the adorable pictures and cast a ballot for their favorite for just a dollar a vote.
