Welcome to this week's edition of "Monroe Connected," your weekly update on topics and events in Monroe County that could affect you and/or your business. Monroe Reads featured on WMAZ Tuesday night at 6
Monroe Reads with Ferst WMAZ interview should be on December 6. It will also be viewable on the WMAZ web site later on. Their group is to be featured in "The 13 days of Giving" segment this month.

Don't forget their next meeting is Wednesday, December 14 at 1 pm. They willl meet at the Monroe County Extension Office meeting room.  

 

Leadership Monroe Graduation and Alumni Dinner

The Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce is "Raising the Bar" in Monroe County make your reservations for the Chamber Members Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation on December 15 to learn how this will affect Chamber Members and their businesses. Ballroom Dance Lessons for Forsythia Gala
If you want to learn a few new steps or just brush up on your style join the chamber for Dancing Lessons because Saturday, February 25th, in celebration of 25 years of Forsythia, we will be hosting an elegant black-tie evening filled with food, fun, music, and dancing!  Not JUST dancing, the evening will include a fun competition to select the best couple!  (Sort of like our own DWTS.) Book Signing at the Rose
The Backlot Players invite you to a book signing with Peg Walton who has written a children's book, Shine!, and it is illustrated by Hazel Caldwell, who lives here in Forsyth.  They are hosting a book signing on December 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Rose Theater, and invite you to come and participate. Read More...

Did you know that last year your donations allowed Monroe Reads with Ferst Foundation and Monroe County Family Connection to place books in the small hands of 491 children in Monroe County. As difficult as it is for some of us to understand, some of these children had never owned a book before. Reading is one of the most basic components of learning and succeeding in our world today.
