Small Business Saturday Campaign
|
First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now, there's the 2nd annual Small Business Saturday, the day people support small businesses. Pledge to Shop Small on Nov 26th. If millions of Americans shop small, it will be huge. So after all of your running around, fighting traffic, and standing in line on Friday. Take some time in your home town and shop small and shop locally. Visit the Small Business Saturday facebook page and type in a zip code and like all of the small businesses listed in that area. Learn how you can earn a $25 credit by shopping local. Business Owners can download the checklist to prepare for the day. Also remember Monroe County has many fine restaurants which are also small businesses or your can always go home and eat that dry turkey sandwich.

Monroe Family Connection Coat Drive
| |
As we approach the holiday season, Monroe Family Connection needs your help. Family Connection is having a coat drive for the Union Hill Community. Please check your closets and see if you have any lightly used coats that you might donate to this initiative. Check with your family and neighbors, too. They need coats for men, women, and children. With cold weather now upon us, they know that we can all appreciate the importance of a warm coat. They will be collecting the coats at the Family Connection Office, located in the County Extension Office Building (next to the hospital) until December 5th. They would truly appreciate your support.
