(ALMOST) FREE WINE AT MEZZANOTTE THIS WEEKEND Due to public demand we are bringing back our popular program of "world class wines at ridiculous prices". This week we are bringing back a fantastic, superb, exciting, etc, Bordeaux Blend from California and we have priced it at below its retail price*. I hope you have the chance to try this gem (we have only a few bottles):
CAIN FIVE BORDEAUX BLEND 2007 - NAPA VALLEY Bottle $99
Cain makes some of the most classically-styled, age-worthy red wines in California. They are not bawdy, voluptuous wines, but wines of grace and class. The Cain "Five" is the perfect example of this. From an incredible vintage where a lot of winemakers made flashy wines, this blend of 68% Cabernet, 16% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabenet Franc shows remarkable restraint. Made entirely from fruit grown in the Cain Vineyard, the "Five" is balanced and rich, but still intense.
*Specs has it at $106.25

SPECIALS AT PIQUEO
This week we are featuring 3 great specials:
BEEF HEART ANTICUCHOS - $8
Anticucho is more than a skewer with marinated meat. It is a tradition. It brings memories of cold nights outside football (soccer) stadiums, sometimes even more memorable than the match itself. It's something you ate as a (Peruvian) child without questioning what it was made of. So, go ahead, try something different and delicious. You won't be disappointed!
ARROZ CON PATO - $26
The duck was a delicacy in the Inca Empire. Later, in XIX century northern Perú the duck was married to a descendant of the Spanish Paella. Today's interpretation is a beautiful piece of duck marinated in black beer and spices and cooked and served with a cilantro risotto.
LAMB CHOPS PIQUEO - $29
Beautiful pair of mini porterhouse lamb loin chops delicately grilled to medium rare temperature. Topped with our unique Huacatay demi sauce. Served with a purple potato cake and grilled asparagus.

MALBEC GRAN RESERVA - JIMENA LOPEZ '08 Bottle $34
100% Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina
Very toasty, offering showy mocha and spice aromatics, but there's also plenty of flesh, with lush raspberry, fig and plum notes that follow through on the long, polished finish.
MALBEC SINGE VINEYARD D.O.C. - LUIGI BOSCA '07 Bottle $36
100% Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina
90 Points Stepehn Tanzer: Bright medium red-ruby. Deep aromas of plum, mocha and nutty oak. Plush, broad and sweet, with a pliant texture to the flavors of redcurrant, plum and mocha. Seamless, full wine, finishing with very sweet tannins and mellow nutty oak.
MALBEC RESERVE - SALENTEIN '09 Bottle $39
100% Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina
91 Points Wine & Spirits; 90 Points Wine Enthusiast. Smells ripe and friendly, sort of like a jelly doughnut. The palate is creamy, dense and balanced, with saturated berry and spice flavors. Very smooth and integrated overall, and while it's definitely dark and ripe it's also popping with freshness. A complete wine at every turn.
