SNEAK PREVIEW - PIQUEO!!
We are working very hard in finishing everything that needs to be done to have PIQUEO RESTAURANT ready for opening. Even our son Diego is lending a hand after school. Here he is helping Jose hang pictures in the bathroom hallway:

NEW - NEW - OUR CIGAR PROGRAM AT MEZZANOTTE

This week we are introducing our latest program: Fine Cigars at Mezzanotte!

Yes...the weather is a little crisp but it is probably optimum to sit in our patio and have one of our fine cigars along with a little Cognac or a Port.

Here is our initial menu:

ROMEO Y JULIETA CHURCHILL - $10.00

A smooth, mellow, medium-bodied cigar that gets its rich, cedar-aged flavor from a well-balanced blend of prime, long filler Dominican tobaccos deftly rolled in silky, Indonesian shade-grown wrappers. A classic after-dinner or golf cigar!

ARTURO FUENTE HEMINGWAY SIGNATURE - $10.00

This beautiful Dominican mild-medium bodied cigar is nearly free of flaws with a light and creamy flavor profile that appeals to a wide variety of smokers. Highly recommended to new smokers and seasoned aficionados alike.

PATEL DECADE TORPEDO - $13.00

Oily and pressed with a great draw. The smoke has a rich and creamy texture with distinct notes of black cherry and a nutty finish. Balanced and elegant. Medium to Full body. Nicaragua binder; Nicaragua filler; Ecuador wrapper. 95 points Cigar Insider.

MONTECRISTO WHITE #2 - 14.00

Reminiscent of the original Montecristo except Montecristo White boasts a hand selected Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. Montecristo White cigars continue Montecristo's fine tradition of being the world's most sought after cigars.

ASHTON VSG BELICOSO #1 - $14.00

Released in 1999 to much fanfare and hard to find for years after their release due to their high demand. This cigar has an Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper from the Oliva family and a binder and filler from the Fuente farm in the Dominican Republic. It took 2 years for the Levin's and Fuente's to come up with the perfect blend. This cigar is constantly in Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of the Year.

PADRON 1926 #9 NATURAL - $22.00

The cut, light, and draw of this baby is perfect. Padróns have a very distinct flavor profile and no other cigars come close. Pre-light tastes of good-ol-fashioned aged tobacco, maybe tea leaves as well. It's cedary and a tad spicy out of the gate, but then mellows down within the first inch to open up to some beautiful black cherry, roasted nut notes. Halfway brings on espresso, coffee bean, and dark chocolate flavors, all notably sweet, but in that subtle Padrón way. The finish is a mile long and holds strong with a dryer, cocoa-like note. Spices are dusted throughout the smoke, framing and balancing it perfectly. This Nicaraguan is worth every penny!

SPECIALS OF THE WEEK AT MEZZANOTTE

ZUPPA DI FREGOLA CON LE VONGOLE - $7

This Sardinian soup uses fregola -which is similar to couscous- to give texture to a wonderful saffron and tomato broth. Clams and pancetta complete the dish.

PIADINA CON TALEGGIO - $8

5" flat focaccia bread toped with imported Taleggio cheese and hot cappicola ham. Paper thin slices of apple complete this fantastic "pizzetta".

ROBIOLA EN BORSELLINO - $8

Deliciously savory imported Robiola cheese stuffed into a "purse" made with Italian mortadella. Delicately seared and served on top of spinach sauteed with pine nuts and golden raisins.

WINTER CAPRESE SALAD - $8

You cant miss this! Creamy imported burrata toped with our fabulous pesto and roasted cherry tomatoes. Beautiful presentation and better taste!

BISTECCA CON PORCINI

FILET MIGNON - $32

RIB EYE - $29

Our "secret" rub mix includes the earthy and fabulous porcini mushroom. Overnight rest with the rub on ensures a unique flavor and tenderness. We recommend medium-rare but you can have it any way you'd like.

COTOLLETTE ALLA ZINGARA - $26

From Sicily: sumptuous double cut pork chop grilled to perfection. Topped with sautéed capers, kalamata olives, red bell peppers and onions and a bit of hot pepper.

LIMONCELLO CAKE - $7

We added some Italian Limoncello to our pound cake and covered with a mascarpone cheese frosting. Very light and delicious!

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE - $7

A chocoholic's dream, this flourless chocolate cake is fudgy, moist and perfectly devour-able. And it is also gluten-free!
