OUR NEW RESTAURANT
Is looking good. We have done most of the demolition already and have started putting up walls and getting them ready for paint. We will start building cabinetry and our new bar this coming week. A lot of work still lies ahead of us but we are very excited.
Here are some pictures of the progress:

After the initial demolition we found some (many) hidden problems:

But...we are plowing ahead. One of the interesting finds was a big home speaker stuck in the ceiling!!

I will keep you updated with the progress. |
OUR FEATURED COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK
OK...this is a test...
This is a cocktail that we will serve in our new restaurant but wanted to get some opinions by featuring it at Mezzanotte this week. It is called "Chilcano de Pisco" or just "Chilcano".
The CHILCANO is a very typical Peruvian cocktail and probably more popular than the Pisco Sour (which is more of a tourist attraction).
The base liquor of this drink is the Pisco which is a VERY strong brandy made of Peruvian grapes. To that base we add lime juice, ginger ale and a couple of drops of Angostura Bitters and...voila!!
Here is a short video of the Chilcano culture in Lima, Peru:

CHANGES AT MEZZANOTTE
No... nothing major (although for us it is!). For the past 5 (almost 6) years we have lived in the obscurity of our location nestled in our hidden corner of the shopping center. Despite this we have been able to attract some attention but recently decided to improve on that. So we are very happy that our landlord agreed to two things:
- Relocate the big tree that covered our entrance from visibility and even covered part of our main sign. The relocation already happenned and some of you have mentioned that something was different but couldn't tell exactly what.
- Relocate our Mezzanotte sign from its current location to the front wall right above our main window panels. This will happen early next week and it will take a couple of days to complete. So if you don't see our sign please don't think we have run away!
We are very excited about these changes as I am sure it will give us some enhanced and needed visibility.
