Come to hear Kevin sing at Mezzanotte as he is rapidly becoming a favorite.  Kevin has been singing since his junior high days in Kansas. His repertoire include jazz, country and oldies songs. I am sure you will love him! He is a great addition to our list of entertainers.

Lisa  

Lisa is the 2004 winner of KPRC TV's Houston's Gimme the Mike.  Lisa was selected out of 1600 contestants.  Scoring a perfect 40 with a soul grabbing delivery of "Over the Rainbow", Lisa won the competition.  She has also performed live on the Jerry Lewis Telethon and sang the national anthem for the televised game of the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

KEEP AN EYE OPEN FOR...

Our new WINE CELLAR!!

This is probably our largest single investment since we opened Mezzanotte back in December of 2005. As we became more and more focused on bringing new and exciting wines to our list, the storage space has become a real challenge. Not to worry (for a little while at least) as we are receiving our new 610 bottle capacity refrigerated cellar in a few more days.

So keep an eye open for its arrival. We are very excited and will celebrate in a very appropriate way when it arrives. Stay tuned please!!

OUR WEBISODES

The term "Webisode" is something new and is derived from the words "WEB" and "EPISODE". I truly believe that video is a fantastic medium to convey subjects of interest (sucjh as cooking, wine tasting, travel, etc.)

I believe so strongly on this meium that I have made it a core part of our new website www.mezzanotte.tv

(ALMOST) FREE WINE!
 

Our (almost) Free Wine program has been so successful that we decided to extend it for a few more days. Unfortunately we did run out of the Brunello but we still have some of the Amarone Le Ragose. I hope you have a chance to enjoy it. We did; on Tuesday night we had our steaks paired with a bottle of the Le Ragose Amarone and it turned out to be a fantastic meal.

 

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Le Ragose '04 - Bottle $64

92 Points Robert Parker - From the Veneto region, this wine is made of 65% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 5% local grapes. Extraordinarily powerful, intense wine of 14-16% alcohol with a concentrated black cherry jam fruit flavor, yet the wine is dry. Dense and super ripe, while still polished and harmonious, this Amarone finishes rich and dry with firm tannins. Pair with braised and grilled meats, and red sauce pasta dishes, or after dinner with chocolate or cheeses, especially from Italy.

SPECIALS OF THE WEEK

 

CARPACCIO DI TONNO - $7

Sushi grade tuna finely sliced and served raw with a small spring mix salad. The salad is drizzled with fine balsamic reduction and the tuna with extra virgin olive oil.

 

INSALATA GRECA - $7

Tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, black olives, feta cheese, our vinaigrette...just a great summer salad.

 

MOZZARELLA EN CARROZZA - $7

A southern Italy specialty. Mozzarella di Bufala delicately flash fried. Served with Tarantina sauce (garlic, capers, anchovie, sun-dried tomatoes).

 

CHICKEN AND PESTO RAVIOLI - App $7 / Main $18

Served with a light Gorgonzola cheese sauce.

FILLETO MEZZANOTTE - $31

10 oz filet mignon delicately grilled to medium rare. Topped with our special sun dried tomato pesto and gorgonzola cheese. Served with choice of sauteed vegetables or pasta.

 

RED VELVET CAKE - $7

Our fantastic red velvet cake is always a great ending!
