And I am not talking about a cheap wine on which you slap a label with your name. No way - I will show you where you can actually pick high quality grapes (from Texas or California) and go through the entire process of desteming, selecting, crushing, fermenting, and aging. So stay tuned! |

SPECIALS OF THE WEEK

Served with a light Gorgonzola cheese sauce.
FRITTO MISTO - $10 Shrimp, squid, and snapper breaded in our special mixture and flash fried. Served with lemon wedges. NY STRIP ALLA PANCA - $26 12 oz NY Strip steak grilled to perfection and served with panca sauce and your choice of pasta or sauteed vegetables. LOMBATTA DI VITELLO - $29
Sumptuous veal chop topped with shiitaki mushrooms and a Madeira sauce. Served over pappardelle pasta.

NEW WINES THIS WEEK
Our July 2011 wine list was released just last week but we are already adding two new wines this week:
Chenin Blanc Muldenbosch '09, Stellenbosch, S. Africa - Bottle $28
89 points Stephen Tanzer: "Pale bright yellow. Subdued but ripe aromas of honey, musky pineapple, peach and smoky oak, with some oak influence showing. Sweet (7.7 g/l r.s.), fat, silky and broad, with the honeyed character continuing in the mouth. Surprisingly firm edge."
Petit Pinotage Ken Forrester '09, Stellenbosch, S. Africa - Bottle $28
88 points Stephen Tanzer. Easy-going red displays classic Pinotage aromas and flavors of spicy raspberries, plums and cherries, supported by smoky bacon nuances. Brambly with a slightly rustic edge, it's a delicious and accessible intro to South Africa's unique Pinotage grape, a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault.
They both are wonderfully affordable expressions of South African wines.
We also introduced in our new menu a couple of nice French wines that we are featuring in our French Thursday night. Next week we will probbaly be bringing a couple of new (medium range) French wines. Stay tuned!

STEAK NIGHT - THURSDAY 7/14/11
We had another great French Night Dinner last night. So we are going to extend it for a couple more weeks and tweak it a little bit.
The menu will be a bit different next Thursday but will continue featuring a great piece of steak and a couple of great wines. So come next Thursday evening (any time between 5:00 and 9:00 PM) and try our slightly new concept - and, please let us know what you think.

PLEASE VOTE FOR US!
If you haven't had a chance yet you can still do it. There is a new online restaurant contest called Houston Entree Awards and we have been nominated in the Italian Casual category. I would argue that we belong in a different category but, what the heck - they probably figure that by being in Cypress we must be "casual" and not "fine". It doesn't matter.
