FAMILY DINING AT MEZZANOTTE

We are starting something new at Mezzanotte: FAMILY STYLE DINING. Our premier event will be a week from Monday (on the 24 of January). Next week I will publish the menu which can be used by parties of 4 or more people. This will be fun, I promise!

MEZZANOTTE IS GOING SOCIAL!
One of my objectives for this year is to "go social". What this mean is that we will get very involved in the use of new (or relatively new) social media services. Yes, we built a Facebook page a while ago but we never really thought of it as a major part of the link to our community. Same thing with Twitter. All of that is going to change soon as we embark in this cyber-adventure.
With this issue of the newsletter we are starting to add a Social Media bar at the top. So, if you like a particular issue of the newsletter you can share it with your friends by just clicking on the Facebook button, or the Twitter button, etc.
Yes, all of this may be new to you but, trust me, it is not only fun but helpful. If you already have Facebook and Twitter accounts you know what I am talking about.
OUR VACATION TO MEXICO
We went to Adriana's home town of Monterrey, Mexico, for Christmas. I must confess that I was really concerned about the 3 hour drive inside Mexico (it was another 5 hours drive from our house to the border and another 2 hours to actually cross the border.
Our line to get into Mexico was not as bad as the line of cars leaving Mexico:

I was concerned about our safety because of all the recent press about violence in Northern Mexico. But I felt better after reading the sign that says that no fire arms are allowed into Mexico (the bad guys don't read very well, though):

I was further reassured when I saw a phone at the customs office that is actually used to report corruption!! this is a great thing to have. Too bad there was no line:

And, of course, not very confortable to see so many armed people (even if they are the good guys):

But, at the end of the day, we had a great and relaxing time. Diego played "big brother" and took care of his younger cousin:

And I had the chance to experience the cooking of a "Pig alla Coffin" (or, in Spanish, "Puerco al Ataud"):

All in all, a great time! but next time we will fly!
