Now that we are down to one restaurant we are really excited at the prospect of being able to focus on our activities and programs. One of those areas is our involvement with the community. So, starting in November we will be running 6 programs during the year in support of local charities and community organizations. We are very proud to announce that our first program (starting on November 1) is in support of Shield Bearer. During the month of November we will be offering a 4 course prix-fixe menu for $35 and we will be contributing $5 to Shield Bearer.
Who/what is Shield Bearer? They are as much a movement as a service organization. They are a group of people dedicated to a vision of healthy relationships, strong families and healthy parent-child relationships. Shield Bearer offers individual, adolescent, couples/family and group counseling in critical areas such as grief recovery, abuse, addictions, peer relationships, family conflict, parenting issues, anger management, etc. Shield Bearer is an active partner with community based organizations, hospitals, universities, schools and churches. As a nonprofit organization, Shield Bearer depends on donations and volunteers. How can you help? You can become a donor and/or become involved as a volunteer. ARE YOU A BEER DRINKER?
Even if you are not, you would be pleasantly surprised when you try our new beer.
We are very excited to introduce INEDIT by Estrella Damm (Barcelona, Spain). Inedit is a unique coupage of barley malt and wheat, flavored with coriander, orange peel and liquorice. This beer is the first specifically created to accompany food. It is born from the conviction that a beer that could be paired with the utmost respect to the best cuisine was necessary. That is its aim and its virtue, and that is what makes Inedit different, special and unique. This unique beer was created by Damm brewmasters, heirs to a century-old tradition, and developers of highly appreciated beers, and by Ferran Adrià, Juli Soler and El Bulli's sommeliers' team (El Bulli is considered the top restaurant in the world). Inedit was created to pair foods that contain citrus and oils (like our Mezzanotte salad, Crab Cakes, Portobello Perigourdine, Carpaccio di Manzo); bitter notes: artichokes and asparagus; and oily textures like salmon, tuna and fatty cheeses.
Now, el Bulli truly is an exciting restaurant. Reservations are almost impossible to get. There aren't any more reservations available for 2010 and probably the 2011 will be gone as soon as they start taking them in December. To check out the restaurant click on the link below. WHAT'S NEW AT MEZZANOTTE?

I am really excited about focusing on Mezzanotte again. I wake up a couple of times at night thinking about new things to do. For starters we will be having new cheese platters, cold cuts platters and olives platters this weekend. I am bringing new high quality products from Italy so please come over and try them and let me know what you think. On the wine side I am also bringing new items to the menu. Stay tuned for all the new developments. |
MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY TAPAS AT MEZZANOTTE
We are expanding our Tapas night to include Wednesdays so you have more flexibility to try some great food at fantastic prices. Our small dishes (Tapas) are all priced at $5 on Monday and Wednesday nights as well as our by-the-glass wines.
