His extensive repertoire of cool jazz includes great melodies from Grover Washington Jr., Stanley Turrentine, Kenny G and many others. His music mixes real well with good wine, food and company.

THIS IS IT FOLKS! HOUSTON RESTAURANT WEEK IS ENDING THIS SUNDAY AUGUST 31!
The results of this city-wide event have been wonderful (I believe, although i don't know the facts yet) so far. So the organizers extended it for an extra week and is ending this coming Sunday. Many, many thanks to all of you that participated by ordering the special HRW prix-fixe menu at Mezzanotte and/or Capriccio! Thank you to all of you that tried all the other participating restaurants! Adriana and I had the chance to try RDG and SoVino and will try Feast tonight. Too bad that we didn't have the time to try several others.

BIRTHDAY PARTY!

August seems to be the birthday month. We have several birthdays to celebrate (ours and several friends'), so we decided to throw a party on Saturday August 29 at 9 PM at Capriccio. Come and join us to celebrate - we will have food and champagne... plus dancing music by Terry Parker!

Well, my two left wisdom teeth are gone for good! Thanks to the persistance of my favorite dentist Clay Nunn (his office is on Louetta) I was convinced to take the multiple anesthetic shots and that fantastic gas (I thought we could offer that at our restaurants bars). So I am writing this newsletter under a mix of pain killer and wine (he said "no liquor" but didn't say anything about wine!).
