ALMS Welcomes our 2010 Lakewatch Technicians!

  brad 2010

Bradley recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology. Having taken courses in limnology and completed projects on eutrophication, Bradley is excited to put his education to use this summer as an ALMS technician. Prior to this position, he sampled soil in agricultural fields, worked in a bookstore, and taught swimming lessons.  In his downtime, he likes to play classical piano, read, run, and swim. In the field you'll likely find him with a pair of binoculars and a field guide, hoping to catch a glimpse of some of Alberta's wildlife.

Emily 2010

Emily is a soon-to-be graduate at the University of Alberta and will be completing her BSc. degree with a specialization in Microbiology as of the end of April 2011. As a part of her last year in school, she will hopefully be working in a research lab investigating biofuel production or petroleum microbiology, which will hopefully lead to a Master's project in the near future. After graduation, she plans to take a break from school and volounteer abroad with Canada World Youth or do some world travelling of her own.

When not working hard at school, Emily loves to spend time outdoors - snowboarding, camping, canoeing, kayaking, boating etc. - hopefully she'll get out to the mountains this summer for some great hiking. As a native of Northwestern Ontario, she also hopes to get home for a bit to spend some time on her own lake and check out the Winnipeg Folk Festival.
